According to the form I linked, you must register for the new race and than get a refund from the previous race. I don't think they have opened the 2013 registration yet This must mean only for 2012 races!

To make a change to your relay team, please complete and submit the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Marathon Relay Team Member Change Request Form. Team Member Change Requests must be received by November 15, 2011 and will be assessed a $25 fee.

The title of the thread is DEFERRAL, I assumed when you started mid thought on your post you were speaking of the subject not off subject. For that misunderstanding my bad. Based on your 4 followups I now also understand what you meant by the last sentence of you original post.

Disney allowed changes from the half or full in 06 BECAUSE it was the first Goofy. Goofy was announced AFTER the races entries opened for 06. And yes, I changed races also just like many of the original 3000 other Goofys.

Others, sorry, I must have miffed of Robert on something .

I was just stating that Disney has no "official" way of deferring 2012 entries to 2013 on their website now. Maybe when they open up the 2013 reg in Jan, the will have an option. Until than, you have to take Disney's word. Last month they had a date for ESPN the Weekend, and a month later they cancelled it. A bird in hand is ..............

i just sent runDisney an email letting them know that b/c i'm pregnant i won't be able to run the WDW Marathon this year. baby is due at the very end of november and even though i've been run/walking most days of the week this whole time i still won't have enough time to train and the baby will be too young to take with me to WDW.

anyway, i know that the registration is non-cancellable (is that a word?) but i figured it was worth it to ask about possibly deferring my entry fee until next year.

Got my deferral paperwork today via email.

I got this info today on deferral policy: Note the deferral deadline is the 15th
and the races noted are links to Active.com - that's how you can get to the 2013 races They also included a pdf of the deferral form I have to complete and return by the 15th.



Dear runDisney Guest,

You are receiving this email because you have requested a deferral from the 2012 Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend. You are eligible to register for another runDisney race up to one year after your deferral request. You will be required to pay registration fees for the event you are deferring to. Once your deferral form is accepted you will be refunded for your previous registration less the $35.00 deferral fee. Please note all paper work must be submitted 45 days prior to the 2012 Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend.

· If you request a deferral to a race with registration fees less than your original registration fees, the difference will not be refunded.

· If you defer to a race with higher race registration fees you are responsible for paying the full higher fee for registration in the race you are deferring to, along with any processing fees. Registration fees are not refundable.

2. Submit the runDisney Deferral Request Form

· You must have registered for the race you are deferring to AND completed and submitted the Deferral Request Form 45 days prior to the 2012 Walt Disney World® Marathon Weekend.

· Deferral Request Form should be received no later than 2 weeks from the date of registration for deferral to be valid

3. Refund & Confirmation

· Once your Deferral Request Form is received and accepted you will be issued a refund for the registration fees for the race you deferred from (less the $35.00 deferral fee).

· runDisney will send a confirmation email indicating that the deferral form was accepted

Disclaimer

· You may only defer to a race with open registration capacity. All races are subject to capacity and may close at any time.

· Deferral Policy applies only to marathon and half marathon race distances. Deferrals will not be granted for 5K and Kids’ races distances.

· Race Registrations may not be transferred to another runner.
