Hoping for some help from the WDW pros out there......
We've been voraciously reading every trip report, tip and morsel of planning advice on this board (and others) since August. We bought "The Unofficial Guide" and read it cover to cover.
All that and we can't figure this one out on our own.
We have a ps a Cindy's castle for 10am and we want to utilize early magic hour at MGM on the same day.
We are staying the GF.
What is the quickest way to get from the GF to MGM?
How many rides can we take in? We are hoping for the RnR roller coaster and ToT.
How long does a breakfast at Cindy's usually last?
What is the quickest way to get from MGM to MK?
Is a taxi an option?
We've only got 4 days and our Cindy's breakfast day is our eldest dd's 10th birthday. A big one, so we want to make sure that we can fit in the things that she is most excited about without cutting it too close to the wire.

Thanks for your help!

Wow, that's really cutting it close.

If you can take a taxi, do it. Leave GF at 7:20 or 7:30, get to MGM - go right in and do ToT and RnRC.

I would leave MGM by 9 or 9:15 at the latest, you'll need to get a cab back to the GF or the TTC. Take the monorail or ferry or boat launch to MK, run up main st to the Castle.

Personally, I would try to make your PS on another day, skip MGM EMH, or try and make the PS earlier on the same day, and then go to MGM.

Agree with above poster.....I would check park schedule to see if MGM is having any of the evening EMH instead. Otherwise, youll be rushing around so much you won't have time to be in the moment and enjoy each experience. Logistically, it would have to be cabs both ways. Even then, with the screening/security chckpoints, there's stil no guarantee you'd make it back for Cindy's at 10:00. Personally, for an event that special, I wouldn't chance it. Good luck whatever you decide.

HTH,
Nancy :earsgirl:

forget about EMH.

Get to MK at opening and enjoy the park for 45 min and then head to CRT for your PS. You'll stress yourselves out tyring to go to MGM that morning before your PS. I don't think it is worth it.

I tend to agree, but if it is what you want, here is how to do it. The busses for Extra Magic Hour will begin running about 1 hour prior to the EMH opening. Be at the bus stop around 7 am. Once there, line up at the ticket booth. Once in, stay to the right side of Hollywood Blvd so you can make that right turn onto Sunset Blvd. I would see if FP is open, if so, grab some for ToT and head over to RnR and ride... usually no more than a 10 minute wait, if that. Then head back to ToT and see how the line is... if short, ride then, if not, go back and ride RnR again, and by the time you get off, you should be able to use FP for ToT. If no FP available, still do RnR 1st then ToT. Then head out of the park and since you won't want to ride the bus back to GF, because it will pick up 1st at Fort Wilderness, grab a taxi to TTC and ride the express monorail to MK. Get through the gate and hightail it up to Cindy's Castle. If you aren't out of breath from doing that, I don't know why! :faint: Hopefully EMH will be at night, and you won't have to worry about it!

Well it seems that we have two very opposite camps here.
One that says "don't do it, you'll stress yourself out" :scared:
and the other that says "you can JUST make it, so go for it" ::yes:: .
If we all met up at WDW, I bet that I could tell the two groups apart on sight.
I am with the first group and my dh with the latter so we'll see who wins out with the final decision.
We were last at WDW in 1990, before we had children and before half of the existing park was built. We honestly didn't know how long it would take to get from MGM to MK. Now, thanks to your replies, I can see that it really would be silly to try to hit the EMH. The ps for Cindy's breakfast was so hard to get, there is no way that we want to risk missing it. I think that DH just likes the idea of the challenge :sad2:
