Thinking about the first timers. Hoping training is going well
Actually, nothing short of losing a limb is going to stop me. Even then, if its an arm I can keep running.![]()
On those long runs my advice is to try and break them down into smaller distances if you are struggling with the whole distance.
Oh sure, go ahead, blame me.I can't think that far ahead. I'm taking things one hour at a time right now. If I don't, I get overwhelmed by the fact that tomorrow I have to do SIXTEEN MILES!!!

I've become very good at looking at things in very tiny increments.

no more fulls for me!
Sounds like everyone is doing great with their training. Good job guys!
I'm doing my first full as well (actually going Goofy). I feel pretty prepared. I've already done a 20 miler and have a 22 next Saturday. Since I'm doing the Goofy Challenge, I'm even doing a 24 miler 3 weeks before the races and I've incorporated a lot of back to back runs. The only thing I'm nervous about is the fact that I've never run in races this big. Only a little local half. So, the crowds are intimidating. But, thanks to my qualifying time, I'll at least start up front in the half. I will be taking my full pretty easy.
