Does anyone have a suggestion of books I could pick up prior to our trip. Secrets of WDW or something related to taking a trip there or ????
I would like to put a few in the DS's stockings at x-mas.
THanks :goodvibes

If you're looking for guides to WDW, here are some:

Birnbaum's Official Guide to Walt Disney World: Very up-beat, lots of color pictures, and not very much useful information beyond descriptions of rides. Very up-beat.

Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World: A huge tome that details how to get the most out of WDW. Oriented toward commando touring, and makes no bones about problems (perceived and/or real) at WDW.

Walt Disney World Passporter: A spiral bound (or, in the Deluxe version, three-ring bound) guidebook to everything WDW, oriented toward people planning a trip. Includes color maps of all the parks.

More appropriate stocking stuffers would be the "Imagineer's Guide to..." series (they have the ones for Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney's Animal Kingdom currently available; the one for Disney Studios is expected within the next couple of years).

Another fun stocking stuffer would be the books on Hidden Mickeys, which explain how to find the many, many tri-circle mickey heads "hidden" around the World.

great! I'll check those out! like the hidden mickey head idea too. We might even buy them each a share of Disney stock!
It'll be a Disney X-Mas!!!
Ransom, I see you are a Wilderness Lodge lover... if you have any personal tips to share with there, I'd appreciate it. Were booked there for Aug 12-19, 08!! First time too! Can't wait to share the secret with the kids!!!

Congratulations on your upcoming stay at Wilderness Lodge. You have good taste. :goodvibes

The biggest help to me the first time was the Wilderness Lodge FAQ Thread. There are lots of folks who frequent that board who know lots about Wilderness lodge. Definitely read the first page, and pay attention to anything MAGICinMYHEART posts (she keeps her post on page 1 updated with the latest information, BTW). She's a true WL guru, and gives of her time endlessly on there to answer questions. You might want to subscribe to that thread and at least follow along with the discussions, and ask any questions you may have. The community is there to help. :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful trip!
