How bad is it? I could go in August but I really don't want to change everything again and I've already put down my deposit and made my ADR's.....

The heat doesn't bother me, and staying on-site, and with EMH's, I'm not all that worried about crowds....

What do you guys think??

we weent 2 years ago in july over the weekend of the fourth and it was ok. wasn't crazy even on the fourth, but i would advise to get TGM (tourguidemike) if you are going then, he was invasluable

We have gone over the 4th of July 3X, and we love it! Ya it's hot, but we like the pools, and water parks. You'll have a great time.

Have fun!

We always go in July and love it. We've been there for both the 4th of July and also the later part of July.

Yes it's hot, but you already know that. We just get to the parks at opening, stay until lunchtime, go back to the hotel to swim and nap and hit the parks again at night.

Everything is open late and the parades are every night so you don't have to plan your days around them. If you go there early and use fast pass you will be fine.

Have a wonderful trip - we'll be there in July also!

If the heat is not a problem then you will love it.....I was there last July/August and the heat was the only bad part of the trip.

We are going in July also. I don't do so well with the heat we will stay out of it at peak times

This question comes up every year, and yes it's HOT, and yes there are large crowds. You're going to have to pace yourself, and try not to be a park "commando" in an attempt to see everything.

I think the great thing about July was the late park hours, especially the fact that they have 2 Spectros and 2 Fantasmics - always go for the late show if you can - you'll forget it's July as the 2nd showings are much much less crowded. The parks get really busy midday though and I would take it as your cue to have a little break and go back to the parks later. Tour groups seem to be everywhere in July, didn't notice them at all a month or so later.

You guys rock! I love you all!

If you're going in July, please feel free to look me up - I would love to meet some of you!!

I went the 4th of July a couple of years ago.....never again! It was really crowded and hot and people were just rude. My son was diagnosed with a muscle disease and we were leaving the park and got caught up with people trying to get seats on the parade route. Well, they would not move, I woud ask politely for them to move beacause we were exiting the park and was accused of trying to get a better seat on the parade route. Never again in July!

We live in Florida and never go down during June or July!!!! Yes, kids are out of school, but, it is sooooooooooooooooooo crowded!!!! Yes it is hot, but, it is always warm and humid here!!! To my family, the crowds are just unbearable. If you are from a large city, super-huge large crowds might not bother you, but for us, it feels like a huge, humid, sweaty mosh pit!!!!

We went in July and loved it but we've spent every summer in Florida for the past 5-6 years so it wasn't something we weren't used to. I found the crowds very manageable especially compared to our previous trip - Christmas week!

Personally I wouldn't go in August because of free dining. Way too many people crammed in the restaurants.

I've gone in July twice and as long as you pace yourself, start early in the AM, drink plenty of water, take an afternoon break, you should be okay.
The only thing I do not like about July is the tour groups, there are alot of them and most of the groups seem to stay in the value resorts...at least the Allstar Resorts. This makes a huge impact on the food courts and the buses to and from the parks.
Try to avoid the groups in the parks as well, since they go a one large group and stay together as they tour the parks if they get in a line before you do, the time posted for a ride increases. If I see a group, I head towards another part of the park.

We'll be there again for 10 days 6/27 thru 7/7. We do what everyone does during the summer; early park touring, pool in the afternoon, and back at the parks in the evening. We also avoid parks on the 4th by spending the day at Discovery Cove.
WDW is a great place to spend the week of the 4th! Very Festive!!
Have a great vacation!!!! :goofy:

I think any time I get to go to WDW is a happy time. basically plan accordingly. You know it's going to be hot & crowded. We've gone practically all times of the year and had fantastic times. We basically start early in the day, we're outta the parks by lunch, chill at the resort pool and then end at the parks around 7:00 pm for a few hours.

Disney is mostly favored by my wife and she has always insisted me to arrange a trip there. Well mates my honeymoon is overdue too its about a year that we got together and my work pressure did not allow me to go vacationing. I have managed to take some time out later this year and would love to know if Disney can be regarded as one of the ideal spots for lovebirds like us. We do not mind being with the crowds though its just that I want to know how the experience is for the new couples?

Disney is always crowded - No getting around that. I've been in July the past 2 years (and again this year). None of the parks are that bad in the morning. Get an early start, and you'll be fine. Use fastpass.
