Could someone please help reassure me on my choice for a January WDW trip?! What are the crowds like, the weather, etc.? Thanks for your help ::MinnieMo

From Jan 2nd through the end of the month it's pretty quiet. MLK weekend can be busy-- avoid it if possible. Also, there are sometimes some events hosted like marathons and such. However, they don't usually draw massive crowds for days or anything.

The weather-- it can be daytime highs of 80 or 45. The January weather is very unpredictable-- and not usually very warm. Florida does get a version of winter.

I love January! It is my favorite time at the park. If you go early in the month, you can catch the Christmas decorations without the crowd. I got to see the light show at MGM that way....it was amazing! The weather is wonderful....it isn't too hot, but it isn't really cold either. You might need a light jacket in the evening. It can be a little more packed closer to the 1st, but as the week goes on, it thins out a little. It is no where near as crowded as the summer.

We were there Jan 9th-Jan15th this year. Crowds were great, but be prepared for any kind of weather. It was hot (shorts/t-shirt weather) Sun-Thurs, then turned cold and rainy on Fri (Fleece/lt jacket type weather). It's a great time to go, but alot of the rides were closed for rehab (Small World, Dumbo, the Land, etc) and of course all the seasonal stuff (time keeper, COP, Cranium Command) were also closed.

aubriee...we must have past each other a ton of times...we were there january 8th to the 15th. :flower:

i have to say this was a perfect time to go...and for our next trip we will go the same week again. low crowds..no waits...plenty to see and do....even with the marathon it was not busy(most had left by monday). the hours were great for us, and we just took advantage of the emh at night to get more time in. (the saturday we left, it was starting to get a little bit busier not much, but it was due to the mlk weekend) we just kind of put ourselves in between the marathon, and the holiday weekend. :cool1:

the weather was awesome for us too, being from maine though, anything in double digits in january is a heat wave, :rotfl:
the day we flew in it was 85, and the rest of the week was in the mid 70's to low 80's. .(this weather was actually warmer then most of our summer days here in maine :) ) friday it did rain, and was chilly, but after the morning downpour (we just hung out at pop for that) it turned to a light mist, and we put on our ponchos and headed for epcot.

Thanks for the replies everyone :sunny:
