Hi everyone,

We r considering taking our trip to wdw (plus a disney cruise) in December. We were originally looking at Halloween time, but early dec works better with the kids schooling etc.

Has anyone visited in early December? What's the weather like??? Is it warm enough for the kids to swim? ( that's important lol ;))

I have! From the end of November to 12 December last year, I was split between Universal and WDW.

The weather was great, definitely warm enough to swim. In fact, I remember it getting so warm one day at Universal I was desperate to get in the pool, and another night at about 7pm getting into Stormalong Bay. It did get cooler the further into my trip I got (even had to buy a hoodie on one of my last nights at WDW!), and I hear the weather can be temperamental at that time of year - you may be sweating or you may be shivering. So, I may have lucked out. I only experienced maybe two periods of rain - one while transferring from Universal to WDW, so no big deal, and then another right as the fireworks were about to begin for MVMCP, which was a bit of a downer.

It's a great time of year to go - the decorations and holiday events, as well as *reasonably* low crowds.

November to early December is the best time of the year to visit. Temperatures can vary between 5-30 deg with low humidity. Most of the time around 22 deg. Pick the day and swimming would be OK.

Thank you both for your comments!
I bit the bullet and booked flights for late nov til mid dec. I was happy with the price (approx $1600 bris-mco). Not too sure if that's a good price, and I don't want to know if it's not lol. But it was under what I budgeted so I'm happy!

That's about what I paid for MEL-LAX then MCO-LAX-MEL @so I think it's a good deal :)

best time of year - done it twice and it was wonderful. it was also the time for the cheaper airfares so you probably won't do very much cheaper than the price you got.
After Thanksgiving weekend the crowds go down and more decorations go up!

We went in early December 2013... temps were above 30! It took us a a good day to work out that jeans and jumpers were not the right attire haha, those kinds of temps don't compute in winter. ;) We needed to buy more t-shirts! Still, our local friends told us it was only few degrees above what they'd normally expect for the time.

We did early December and there were some days we were in jeans and jumpers, then switched to t-shirts during the day. Other days were shorts and t-shirts. Layers are the key :)
