MRI says plantar fascitius (sp?) and bad tendinitis in ankle and foot. Leaving in 30 days. Will not be able to do ECV I will be traveling with my DH ds6 twins3 and my mom (in a ECV) and dad.

Anybody know how bad this will be. We cannot cancel: Long story short my mom is sick and wants to go to WDW one last time with grandkids.

Could someone tell me how bad the "boot" is?

Most people tend to do 8-12 miles per day at WDW. Once around World Showcase Promenade is over 1¼ miles.

How about:

Mom in ECV
DS-6 walks
Twins - 3 in double stroller
DH and father - one push you in wheelchair, other pushes twins in stroller.

:grouphug: I can so feel your pain. The boot is very uncomfortable but hopefully it will help you. If you take many breaks I think you would be okay in it without ECV or wheelchair but it does get uncomfortable. It is a lot of walking so definitely take breaks and in the evening try to get in the whirlpool if one is available. It should help relax it and make it feel a little better. :grouphug:

Years ago when DH was younger he broke his foot at work. He had a walking boot and 6 weeks off work. The first thing he said was "lets go to Disney World!" We didn't have alot of money back then so he said we would go camping in a tent at the Fort. It was August. He drove our truck with a manual shift with his broken foot in a boot for 10 hrs. (I could only drive an automatic shift) Then he set up the tent.We had to hog tie him to get him to use a wheel chair while in the parks. He did very well and we had a good time. Although,at the time,I did think he was crazy. Hope you do well and have alot of magical memories on you trip.:)

I went last year with the same problem. YOu are probably on anti inflammatories. They got me through the day.

ALso bring several ziplock bags. As we were going to our rooms we would stop at the ice machine and I would spend the rest of the evening icing my ankle.

Take it slow which you will probably do since your mom is not feeling well. Rest when you can and ice, ice, ice.

This year I will probably get a wheelchair (dh is threaten me with one) because I had bunion surgery in June. It was healing great until the weather turned hot and humid and it swelling more than ever but dr said this is normal.

Good luck. I hope it is everything you want for your mom.
