Wdw In 07?

Does anyone happen to have any valuable info about wdw packages for 07? We are trying to plan for a trip this coming feb, and we know that the "theme" is the year of a million dreams, but we (my hubby and my loving parents, of course!) want to get cracking on making package arrangements. We have already booked a place to stay....have any ideas? Thanks a "million"!!!

As of yet Disney has not released 2007 packages - rumor is they will be available sometime between now and August......

Thanks for the welcome!!! I also appreciate the reply. This is my first time my daughter has been to WDW, and I am a first timer as well. My husband has been before, so he is not nearly into the planning excitement as I am. I have been such a web surfer and wdw book buyer, it's nuts!!! I have also found some great tips, like a gift basket waiting for us there and-my fave- is an invite for the girls to b'fast from MM!!!!! I think that sounds cool. nyways, does anyone have any suggesions for a first timer, or any cool things that I can plan for my dd7? Thanks so much!!!!!!

My DD was 7 when we went this past Dec/Jan. She loved the Cinderella Breakfast (CRT), it was just her, I and Grammie. She wore here Aurora costume and we had a wonderful time. I have never been but Bibbidy, Boppidy Boutique(BBB) just opened in Down Town Disney (DTD). This is such a great age, she was able to keep up with us and the wonder and awe on her face was priceless!

As a first timer I would start with where are you staying, on or off property, which resort and for how long. That alone can be quite consuming.

Then I would begin to make a "wish" list. The thing about WDW is that it is so big you will never see and do it all unless you are planning on living on Property for a good long time.

Our first trip was for the Millennium Celebration in 99/2000 - talk about chaos! We are DisneyLand(DL) veterans but had no clue what WDW was like. We did no planning, this was a trip my Mother-In-Law planned for the entire family, we just showed up and we had a great time. That said, when we decided to go back this past Dec/Jan I did all the planning and was amazed at how little I knew. It all started when I needed a resort.............

These Dis boards and a couple of other sites gave me a tremendous amount of information. The nice thing is unlike a guide book, all you do is post a question and you get a lot of answers based on personal experiences.

February from what I hear is a good time weather wise. The parks are less crowded and open fewer hours so you may actually get to sleep while there.

Planning is at least 1/2 the fun..............Enjoy

Thanks so much for the info! We are staying at the Old Key West resort-it will be 7 of us so we wanted a villa. My husband was not happy about the cost, but it was important for my mother and I that we all stay together-especially b/c we have 2 7 y/o girls (my daughter and a really close friend's niece). We didn't want to be in a place where everyone has to run up and down hallways to get to each other, you know? We have been finding some great info in books, and I am the web surfer. While my mother (grammy) keeps her nose in a book, my eyes are stuck on the computer. Again, thanks for the advice, and keep it coming!!!!!

Given the size of your party make sure to keep an eye on the 180 day mark and make the ADR's for the meals you want to have together.

In 99/00 we went with 36 family members. My mother-in-law planned the whole trip and we had 14 connecting hotel rooms! It was a lot of fun, one thing she did that made it really nice was we had 2 dinner events together as a group and lots of free individual family time. One day one of my Brother-in-laws took all the kids to the water parks while Moms & Dads spent an afternoon together without the kids.

Last year My Brother and Sister-in-law flew down from NH and joined us for 3 days and then Grammy and Grandpa joined us for the last 2. There was one day where everyone was there together, we were a party of 8 and had a great day and dinner together.

Grammie and Grandpa are not into the rides, they like the shows and Epcot. We would do something together and then separate and meet back up. This worked really well, no one felt left out and at the same time everyone got to enjoy their day. Our cell phones were a major asset during this leg of the trip!

One afternoon Myself and Sister-in-law (we are the daughter-in-laws) spent the afternoon with Grammie & Grandpa shopping in Epcot and my Kids, DH and Brother-in-law spent the afternoon riding the big stuff! Then we met for dinner, it was great. No one felt left out and no one felt held back.
