I have a question. To sign up for the WDW Honeymoon registry you have to book your honeymoon beforehand. However, I'm trying to plan my honeymoon in a time period that hopefully will have free dining available as we get closer to the date, based on previous years offers. My question is, if free dining becomes available after you have booked your trip through Disney Honeymoons, will they honor free dining if you call them and ask for it?

From what we've been told by CM's, the answer is yes! If you book any package and then an applicable offer is released, you can apply it to your package. We had originally booked our HM for the Beach Club and had no special offers. We then got a bounceback offer when we were there in March, and were able to save 40% off of our room. So I would go ahead and book your trip and hope that the free dining plan is released :)

CMs should be able to add the free dining plan onto your existing reservation without changing anything.
Even if for some reason you have to change your reservation number, you'll still be fine for the Honeymoon Registry. We got married in Feb. and were staying at POR. Originally when I did the registry, I put in that number for our reservation number. We then decided to take an actual honeymoon in June, so I decided to switch the reservation number linked to the Honeymoon registry. There is an option to do this in the account settings.

Great! That's really helpful guys. Thank you. Oh yeah, one more question. Is it true that as long as your stay starts on a free dining day, the entire trip is eligable for free dining? I'm trying to plan our trip for the very end of September so that we can hit MNSSHP and Food and Wine while also catching the trail end of free dining. This will be in 2012 but I've been checking out 2011's offerings.

Yes. Our free dining offer ended September 26th and we booked our first night on the 26th, and the entire rest of the trip is free as well :)

You might want to check out Travelers Joy for your honeymoon registry, the Disney registry was just to quirky so we switched!

Ooooh I forgot to subscribe to this thread and just checked the replies! I am intrigued by this Travelers Joy! Thank you. I'm gonna go check it out right now.:goodvibes

hopefully they still do discounts during that time! the current rumor is that they're going to start weening discounts less and less... especially with the new fantasyland opening. i would shoot for a time when you really want to go. fingers crossed for your free dining--or a discount that may even work better :)

They are def doing free dining in 2012 because you can already book it in the UK.
