At 9 p.m., there will be a program about the holidays at WDW resorts on Food Network. They were showing the giant gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian, and I cannot wait until we leave on Thursday!

I thought some of you might be interested in watching it.

Cool.. this will help tied me over for the next two weeks :cool1:

Thanks for the reminder. I knew this was coming up but with all the holiday activity I completely forgot about it. :cool1:

We taped it and plan to watch it in the morning w/ the kids before we leave for the airport!!!! Can't believe tomorrow afternoon....we'll be at POFQ!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

What a cool and tasty show! I let DS8 stay up later to watch with me! :rolleyes1

I knew this was coming up and I missed it! I am so bummed, but not too bummed. Less than 48 hours til the real thing, yeah!

They are repeating it again at 1am so try and tape it like I'll be doing. :wizard:

We just returned home today from WDW and we toured the GF. We had our picture taken in front of that house and the lady in the house offered us samples of the shingles, the walls, and some other part ~ it was all good! What a place that GF is. An orchestra plays on the second floor of the lobby. Grand it is. ::yes:: I would love to stay there.

I watched it and missed the end due to taking a phone call...just wondering if they said what they do with all the concoctions after the holidays?

Curious as to when this show was taped? Looks like most of it was for this year?? That would mean taping and quick editing to get it on TV tonight. So, if that is the case then all of what they showed will be there this year?? I know I've seen some of the displays in past years, but just really curious as to when all the decorations went up? I always thought they went up just before Thanksgiving? So, how could they have taped an edited it so quick unless they showed the decked out parks from last year?? Any ideas on that?

Sure got me psyched for our upcoming trip though!! :wizard:

Oh, man. I'm watching the rerun now, and I am so hungry. I have this really bad feeling I'm going to be chewing on the walls of the Poly when I'm there in March, just to make sure it's made of wood and not chocoloate.

All hail cake!!

:worship: :cake:

I was wondering when it was taped also. Actually, I think the Christmas decorations went up earlier this year. I'm not sure though.

It had to have been in 2004. I say this because the pictures in the Holiday Photos thread look identical to the images of the Boardwalk candy carnival. Also, the MK Christmas tree was in it's correct location. The 2005 tree is still over in the Rose Garden area because they have not yet filmed the parade. I know that it was not 2003, because they had the Osborne Lights on. There were images of MVMCP and those just started last night. Mystery solved. Maggie

Definitely from last year - The castle wasn't decorated at all for the 50th.

It was great though. I love those specials about Disney and food. It goes to show the time, effort and money Disney puts into things for the guests.

Well, duh, how did I miss that one as a point?!?! Thanks for catching that one. Maggie

did anyone see it and think - OMG there is so much more to see than i had planned on? i've been planning this trip for 2 mos. and thought - wow - i hadn't budgeted in time for touring the resorts.

now i'm so fired up to see the osbornes!!!

The kids and I watched it last night. I wasn't planning on visiting any resorts, but we really want to get over to GF to see the gingerbread house. I'm thinking we can get over there after our HDDR meal, or maybe take a break to get over there on our Epcot day.
