The problem with seasonal changes is simple. Some people, unlike most of us, only go to the parks once every few years. Those people do not want to see anything but the original. Remember the birthday cake castle. What would it have been like to see WDW for the first time without seeing the original castle. That happened to my wife. She hated it.
If it could be as well done as Disneyland, then I think most visitors would enjoy the change of pace.....if they try shortcutting the procedure, then I think it would create problems; and wouldn't be worth the effort....I was prepared to dislike the one at Disneyland, and found it a welcome change; almost mesmerizing!
Since the attendence is already HIGH during the Holiday season for the mansion, it seems stupid for Disney to spend money. Especially when the cutback on many parts and features.
