WDW Gift Cards for dinner?

I am one who loves to pay things off as soon as I can, and I was wondering...

Could I get gift cards for dinners I plan on having (TTS and Ohana) and just give them that... for the Tonys one its not a buffet so I would but a larger amount on it, but for Ohana since its fixed price, if I do how much dinner is, plus tip and a little more, and just give them that and be done does that work?

Meaning, say dinner is 50 + tip (10)+ tax (5) and a little extra (just to be safe) (5) dinner would be $70, If I give thema gift card for that amount, can I just leave? or do I need to figure out a tip and wait?

This might sound like more trouble than its worth but im trying to get otu of both places as quickly as possible (one for ropedrop one for p&PP)

Does anyone have experience with payign for dinner with gift cards?

Credit card or gift card will need to swiped and signed for. Cash will be the fastest as you can just leave it and go.

We buy giftcards ahead of time and use them for our meals. Our main reason is to have the trip paid for in its entirety before we even get on the airplane. You still hae to sign for your gift card use like you would if you charged your meal to your room or credit card, so I'm not sure that it will save you time if that is your main focus.
