Getting ready for school this morning, I was listening to the radio. The DJ's were talking about how much it costs to go to WDW these days. Then they mentioned some year way back there and what the admission price was to the parks...$1 for adults and $.50 for children!

What a great idea! They thought that WDW should have a day where everyone could get in at those prices. Then they went on to talk about how there are many children who never even get there once because their parents can't afford it. I think it's a GREAT idea! :Pinkbounc Maybe they could do it once a year. :teeth:

great idea...

but could you imagine how BUSY those parks would be?

I really don't see how it would work. The parks have capacity limits and after a certain amount of people were in they would close down. How is Disney going to sort out all the people who can afford a Disney vacation from those who can't and only allow the poor people to gain entrance?

Also, wasn't that the same time when you had to pay for individual rides? So, it was really more than that.

There is a hotel we used to stay at in Ocean City, MD that if you stayed during peak season you could stay in off season for $9 per person per night

Disney could do the same $1 or even $10 admissions if you bought passes from them in the same year
or so many days of hopper passes earns you 1 -1 day hopper pass etc
they could do more to encourage repeat visitors

I'd settle for a students' rate at this point. :teeth:
