ok - found this great forum, a little advice asked for

Going to Florida next week for 2 week vacation and plan to include 2 days weekend trip to Disney (mostly as I have two children aged 4/6 who will love Magic Kingdom),

We plan on MK for both days (although depending on day 1 may do AK the second day).

It works out about £500 for 2 adult/2 children 5 day Hopper pass or $200 (£130) per day at the gate.

On this basis gate seems the preferred option rather than holding 3 spare days until next time.

Q - Are there any disadvantages to this strategy,

we are staying at I Drive hotel and also have a car while were there

the only problem is the weekend days are the busiest as all the local disney fans go on the weekend as well as people on their vacation.

plus the ques at the windows to buy tickets can be quiet long

but whatever you decide have a great time

If you're planning only 2 days in the Disney parks, then it does seem a 'waste' to buy 5-day hoppers, unless you know you'll be going back. However, the 2 x 1-day passes will limit you to visiting either MK or AK on your second day - these tickets do not allow you to hop between parks. They are 1-day, 1-park tickets.

You don't have much time to order tickets to be delivered to your home before you leave, but you can arrange for tickets to be sent to your hotel for collection upon arrival from many on-line ticket merchants. Ticketmania, for example, sell a 4-day hopper either with or without an 'extra' option (entry to a Disney waterpark, etc.) for around £440 - £460 for all of you. That's against on-the gate 2 sets of 1-day, 1-park tickets for all of you for nearer £250.

If you think you might use more than 2 Disney days this trip, my vote would be to get the hopper tickets.
