I've read 'Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom' and 'Kingdom Keepers,' and I'm hungry for more! Are there other books out there that are set in the Magic Kingdom or elsewhere in the World?

By the way, I pretended that I bought 'Kingdom Keepers' for my son. Hee hee!

I'd LOVE some books on MK.

I bought the Imagineers MK handbook about two weeks ago. It has some great tidbits about the attractions and the architecture.

What, where, who? I have never heard of these books. More information please!

'Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom' is by Cory Doctorow and is a sci-fi story set in the future (is that redundant?), in which there is no more death and people live not by money, but by the respect others feel for them. The main character joins the group that maintains the HM, and must fend off another group that has radically changed the Hall of Presidents and Pirates of the Caribbean. That's a very bare summary. I don't usually care for science fiction, but I found this to be a very entertaining read.

'Kingdom Keepers' just came out this year and is set around a group of 5 kids (12-ish) who go through the MK in their sleep as holographs, working together to solve a puzzle Walt left in order to fight evil characters who are trying to take over the MK. Again, a very bare summary, and a really terrific book.

I'm curious about what else is out there!

subbing, I have never heard of these 2 and I would love to read them. Hmmm maybe a good way to pass some time before our trip. Thanks for the info!

for my kids. It has 11 chapters and they made me read it in one sitting!!! It was really ggod. They all enjoyed it (ages 13,10,7) and I did too. Got it on amazon. Takes place in the Magic Kingdom- by the way!

I loved reading the Baby Sitters Club book when they went to WDW. I don't remember the exact title, but it was one of the larger, "special edition", titles that have white covers. I don't think I have it anymore, but maybe I'll check out half price books to see if they have an old copy around to read for old times sake! The book follows various people's stories in WDW...the only one I remember well is a group of boys interested in finding pirate treasure, and riding POTC many times. Very fun!

DH bought me Kingdom Keepers at DTD and I can't wait to read it - as soon as life slows down a bit, I guess.

It is one of my dreams to write novels and I keep talking about having one set at WDW...I just don't know if that is okay as far as copywrights, etc are concerned.

They always say, "write what you know" and what do I know better? This obsession has to pay off someday, right? :teeth:

Also interested in this. Never heard of these books. :goodvibes

Sounds like they could be good reads. I like stuff like Chronicals of Narnia and the Left Behind series. Would I enjoy these?

Can you tell me more about Mystery? I can't find it on Amazon, probably because the title is so general, if Mystery is the title.

The title is The Mystery at Walt Disney World. It was written by Carole Marsh. The list price is 5.95.
I just typed "Mystery at Walt Disney World" in the search and it popped up.
Hope this helps!!

I just looked up The Mystery at Disney World and found it. Thank you.

I also notice a book called The Mystery at Disney World Teacher's Guide. Anyone know what this is?

DD, 12, is huge WDW fan and can't wait to get back. Would these be good reads for a twelve year old girl. Not a big reader unless the book is a "can't put down". Any thoughts.

My DD is 13 and she enjoyed it. It keeps on on the edge of your seat.
Hope this helps!
