From September 1 to November 2, 2019, Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels will have more opportunities to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours benefit with extra, Extra Magic Hours! It’s a special chance to enjoy more time at a select theme park—before the park’s regular operating hours—to enjoy select attractions and experiences.

Poor off site guests, no chance to try Smuggler's Run with less than a 3-5 hours queue.

AT what time do you think we should be at the DHS gates to be among the firsts? Would 5:30 be enough? Better to be there at 5?

Considering in the beginning of Pandora they were opening that land up sometimes an hour before park official opening I would be there at 4:30-5:00. I know I did an hour early for Pandora the November the year it opened and I was the first group on the ride and got onto Navi'i River (basically walk on) then back onto FOP for about 30-40 min wait.

I am expecting much larger interest in SW:GE than Pandora and hopefully better line management. When AK opens early for Pandora it is sort of a free for all (people running etc.) to the bridge into Pandora were they hold you for a bit so hoping it isn't quite like that because people that showed up right when turnstiles opened were pushing (I saw some people literally get knocked over) to get up front.

I'll wait as much as possible to go to plan days to DHS, to let the initial rush fade, but I'll be at WDW 8/31 to 9/12 so the first two weeks, nowhere to hide, probably. Normally, to be first at rope drop it's 1 hour before opening, I was hoping that being a 6am opening, people would not want to wake up at 3:30 to get ready and take DIsney transportation to be at the gate at 5. But you're probably right. Luckily I booked BWV, so I won't have to deal with buses, 15 minutes walk and I'm at the gate (one reason why I still love my DVC).

I was able to grab BWV for November for 4 nights so I'm looking forward to that 15 minute walk too. I'll wake and line up early then just walk back to BWV and relax after I experience the land.

We'll be at the BWVs about 2 weeks late Oct/Nov.
So to get to DHS's extra, EXTRA Magic Hours, we would have to get up around 4AM in order to take showers, get ready, drink coffee & maybe eat something, then take a boat or walk (probably walk, it's much nicer) over.
hmmmmmm, 4AM versus I'm on freakin' vacation.
Pretty sure I know where we'll be
