WDW during Easter Weekend 2006

We are planning our next trip for April 8 thru 15th 2006. Easter Sunday is 4/16. Can anyone tell if Disney does anything special on Easter Weekend? Are there any special activities or anything different?

Also how is the weather the first part of April. We went this past July and it was so awful hot that my DH said he would never go again in July. We are not able to take DD8 out of school for a week so we are thinking about spring break.

I know there is an Easter parade at the MK. I was actually wondering if they only do it Easter day or if they do it Palm Sunday as well, so I'm glad you started this thread.

The weather last year was ideal. Warm enough for shorts--but not hot. Very little rain. From the weather perspective it's an ideal time to go.
We flew out on Easter day so we missed the parade. There really weren't any Easter celebration activities in the days leading up to Easter.

We had gone during Easter a few years back. The weather is perfect but there are lots of crowds. We overlapped so out last few days were about 10 days after Easter, and it was quite.

Easter Sunday we had stayed at The Dolphin. You can purchase Easter baskets in the gift shops, have the bunny deliver candy to your children and I think they might have had an egg hunt but you had to have your meal at one of the hotel's restaurants. I am not sure what they will do this year.

The huge televised Easter Parade is done before Easter. I know that they used to do it Easter Sunday (was there in 1989). Last time we were there for Spring Break they just had some additional characters added to the normal parade. I could be wrong though. Some of the resorts did things like Easter egg hunts, etc.
