I just learned from these boards that the 2nd week of February may be busy in WDW because it's Daytona week. Correct? Does anybody know if there's anything going on in WDW during the 1st week of February? Thank you.

There doesn't appear to be. It is supposed to be a slower time. We will be there also! :hyper:
See you there!

we are there the first week in feb also..we go down for the golf show and stay 2 more weeks..great time of year..noone on rides and no lines..havent made a ps in 4 yrs in jan or feb

I'm also hoping that nothing is going on during that time period! We'll be there then. I love going to WDW when the lines are short, the weather is nice, and the resort prices are at rock bottom. Even with the early park closings, you can get so much done during the day that it makes it worth while! Have a great trip! :D

My wife and I are DVC members and we will also be there the first week in Feb. (also the last week in Jan.) ! We just purchased our AP passes with our Disney Visa Card for triple Disney reward points.

:Pinkbounc :bounce: And we can't wait! My DH and I went when we were first married (12 years ago) during this week and there were no lines (of course, back then we just went to MK and Epcot).

Based on what I'm reading here, it's going to be crowded the first week in February... it seems everyone is going!

We'll be there, too (our first time at the AKL).

I've also heard that cheerleaders will also be there that week.

Count us in too. We were there last year...exact week. It was a great week. Gotta get my countdown timer done for this trip yet...I guess.

See ya there.

We'll be there too. Staying at the WL, 1-30 to 2-6.

What is the weather like during the last week in Jan/first week in Feb. Is it warm enough to go swimming? Are the pools heated. Of course, being from Canada, warm is a relative term...LOL!!

And a few more links later we find...

"Congratulations to you and your team on qualifying for the 2004 National Dance Team Championship, January 30 - February 3, 2004. The championship will again be held at the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort in Florida and will be nationally televised on ESPN2."

"VERY IMPORTANT: Accommodations will be provided at Disney's All-Star Resort and Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. Your team may choose which resort they would like to be housed in. Disney's All-Star Resort is a very nice economical hotel. Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is considered to be a more upscale hotel on Disney's property. Therefore the difference in the package price is the hotel cost only. All other services will remain the same for both hotels."

Speaking only for myself, if every cheerleader in America shows up that week, I'm still going! :D

This is my last link- I promise.

"Congratulations to you and your squad for qualifying for the 2004 National High School Cheerleading Championship, February 6-10, 2004. The championship will be held at the Disney-MGM Studios and Disney’s Wide World of Sports™ Complex at the Walt Disney World ® Resort in Orlando, Florida."

"VERY IMPORTANT: Accommodations will be provided at Disney's All-Star Resort and Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. You may request Disney’s All Star Resort or Disney’s Caribbean Beach. Disney's All-Star Resort is a very nice, value-priced hotel. Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort is considered to be a more moderately priced hotel with larger rooms on the Walt Disney World property. Therefore the difference in the package price is the hotel cost only. All other services will remain the same for Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort."

We will be there also (1st - 5th) first time taking my son who is 2 years old - and first time going in February-looking forward to it. But no one answered the question regarding weather - how is it generally warm enough to swim:sunny:

We used to go that week, and it was not warm. I think out of four years going during the first week or two of February, we only swam once, maybe twice. Temps ranged from the low 40's to upper 60's, once or twice hitting the low 70's. We have photo's from 1996 wearing our winter coats/hats/mittens in the parks during the day.

The All Stars and CBR will have cheerleaders, and LOTS of them. We found them VERY Noisy, not always well supervised, and generally a nuisance.

If you are staying at another resort, you will probably not even notice they are there.

As far as Daytona week, there will be a few extra people there, but not enough to make a difference.

I'll be there as well! It looks like I may run into some dancers on my night at ASMu, but otherwise I seem to be in the clear! :)

The weather appears to be rather iffy--could be warm, could be rainy and cold in February. When we went in 2001, the first two weeks of February were in the 80's and we did plenty of swimming.:D

 count us in too...we will be staying at the pop century feb 2-8th....cant wait..we have heard that the weather is generally pretty nice that time of year ...now at night it gets cold..but who cares about night..i mean as long as it is nice in the day........first time there for us....the kid cant wait..well neither can i and the hubby...see ya'll there..:earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy:

Hey Cyndibelle,

We are staying at the Pop Century too from Feb 1st - 5th maybe we'll see you there...I 've been praying for warm weather that week just for those of us who visiting the first week of February ;) :sunny:
