Its been two years.

2007 ended for me with a trip to WDW in October and another one in December. When I got back to work from my trip in October I was laid off from my job. 10 years of being an administrative assistant to VPs, CEOs and Presidents of corporations was over, I took this opportunity to take myself back to school.

The layoff came with a severence and unemployment insurance.

The severence bought me a nikon d40 and one more trip to Walt Disney World already in the works. Since 2007 I have been to WDW 0 times. I went back to college and have my Associates degree in Liberal Arts. I am back in the world of employment via a local high school. The one, in fact, that John and I graduated from together in 1985.

Our trip is in December.

My friend Rose "needs" to use her timeshare house in Orlando or else she'll lose the week.

Rose invites me to go with her cause to be perfectly honest, our husbands get more than their share of Disney and sometimes tell us we should just go on ahead without them. Summer Bay is on Rt 192, about 10 minutes just outside of the Main Gate of Disney. It's a resort so it comes with all the amenitiies; its own lake, pool, bar, mini golf, weight and pool room. Did I tell you her timeshare is a private 3 bedroom home complete with its own swimming pool and two master bedrooms that include jacuzzi tubs and glass walled showers with a full kitchen, dining room and a third bedroom big enough to sleep 10 if we really wanted to squeeze alot of people in. :faint: eta:are you as out of breath as I am after reading that?!

This, so far, is for just the two of us.

I wonder how we are going to manage...

I am so excited for you! You and Rose will have a wonderful time, as you always do!

Thank you Mary! Rose really has alot to do with Disney being such a big part of my life :) eta: who am I kidding, she has EVERYthing to do with my love of Disney

I have a spreadsheet. A very simple one.

When I print the excel sheet right before we leave, it'll go on an index card and be carried with me in case I need any details on the ADRs (Advance Dining Reservations) and special events Rose and I have planned for our week in December.

Basically, we are going to WDW. Our families have been known to venture over to the dark side (Universal Studios) almost every trip down. We also have an admiration for Sea World. This trip is gonna entail nothing. but. Disney.

Rose always has leftover park tickets, and tends to like to buy new ones when she doesn't have any tickets stashed, via ebay. I buy mine thru Disney. For all the luck she has had with not being left at the gate with bad tickets, I dont wanna be the one shafted after spending $300 on ticket packages off of some random stranger online.

My tickets will be six days of park hopping that expire at the end of 14 days. If it looks like I am going to have any days left over (which I doubt will happen) I will go to guest services and get them to add the non expiring option to the passes to be used on our next adventure south.

Besides hitting all four parks as often as we can over the six days, we have a few special excursions reserved such as: A fireworks pirate cruise, breakfast with Lilo and Stitch at O'hana and a breakfast with Mickey at Cape May Restaurant on the Boardwalk, a visit to the new T-rex for dinner one night, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party with the WDW Today gang and Dole Whips with Tiggerbell-Jaime and her Celebrity Buddy Tiara Todd. eta:Rose and I are trying Raglan Road for the first time. They have live entertainment at 9 Mon thru Sat. The food is a little pricey, I hear it's very good. ...I think we got the "can we have a good time alone together" question completely covered :teeth:

When my kids are out of school and I can take a December trip, I so want to go to MVMCP!!! Have fun!

Give us a holler when that time finally comes....I have a feeling Rose and I will be headed down early December that year and you can come with us ;)

I have lots of pictures coming!!!!

...as well as...

Introductions of my cast of characters with photos...there really are some good ones ::yes::

A photo of my index itinerary is coming, I wanna show you guys how I keep my week all on one piece of paper ::yes::

My recent studies at school included graphic design, I have 25 years of photography training

and tend to take thousands of photos for every week we vacation. Yes. seriously. Thousands.

I surf the net a bit to enhance my Disney knowledge.

I learn a ton and laugh alot because I read trip reports written by such fine Disers as Tiggerbelle, Nebo and the Focker Crew.

I hope to record a wonderful trip to our favorite place

and share my thousand or so photos I take, right here on this forum with you.

I love meeting Disers and this trip includes my meeting a Diser or two.

This is a trip of firsts.

Rose and I are aiming to make this trip about seeing just how many different things we can do

that she and I have never done before.

Since this post seems to have turned into an intro of me...how about a photo...

I made this Self Portrait in graphic design class last year:

Congratulations on your new degree and job! Your trip sounds wonderful. Can't wait for more. popcorn::

This is Rose...with me. I have lots of pictures of my good friend Rose.

She and I have been on lots of trips to FL together.

She is my enabler.

Rose takes me to Disney, cause she can.

Some of my bags are out because I am already packing.

The red bag is my MEI Travel Crew Member backpack. It's now also my park bag.

There's a teeny tiny little black bag hanging in front of the red bag; that is my purse.

The big Mickey bag has a surprise for my Mom and her travel buddy Laura inside it right now.
It is a reuseable shopping bag, it's HUGE and it's going shopping in Disneyworld with me.
