Hello folks,

We are going to the WDW Dolphin over Christmas / New year. :hourglass

many of the guides say the parks fill up fast - but Disney resort guests are guaranteed entry in to the parks.

Does this guarantee also cover those of us staying at the WDW Dolphin - most other perks e.g. Extra Magic Hour seem to be included?

Thanks,

The Hodkys

Yes. You take the same buses and or boats depending on what park you are going to as the people staying at the YC/BC or BWI. We love the S/D. The only thing you cannot do is charge purchases off of the S/D complex back to your room using your room key.

You are guaranteed entrance to A Disney park. It may not be the one you want to go to.

Last thing I read, Dolphin and Swan do not get the free bus service to and from the airport, Disney Magical Express. I was surprised about that.

That is true. No magical express for the S/D resorts. They also do not participate in the dining plan. We love the S/D but will stay at a Disney property for our April 06 trip for the magical express and the dining plan.

Safetymom makes a very important point. Resort guests are guranteed admission to A park, not the park of thier choice. So on Christmas when MK fills up and they close it doesn't matter where you are staying, once they hit full capacity you aren't getting in.

Just keep in mind though, the S/D were not "offerred" to participate in either of those plans or "perks" (the ME or Dining). They probably would participate if WDW extended the invitation.

I complained to a ADR supervisor about this in reference to the 90 day out ADR procedure (where you can make your ADR's for the whole trip). I told him it wasn't right that we were not extended this perk because we were staying at the Swan. We are AP holders and DDE holders--who should be extended this courtesy as well.

All of the other perks are included though--enjoy your stay--the S/D is a great place!!

Thanks everyone.

We've just spent the weekend planning where we would like to eat during our stay - taking advantage of the suggestions/feedback on the Disboards. Looks like we'll either have to keep phoning each day once we hit the 90 day mark or select the really important eateries (say for New Years Eve) and then wait until 90 days counting back from the end of our holiday.

We have been thinking of going to Epcot for New Year's Eve - but it's going to be a long day until those fireworks (do they have fireworks at midnight in addition to the normal Illuminations?)

We arrive in Orlando about 2.30pm on the 29th so we have been thinking of going to Seaworld (on the 30th Dec) and Universal on the 1st Jan, going to Epcot on New Year's Eve. We thought we could spend the 2nd - 6th Jan at all the Disney parks when the crowds may be quieter???

Any thoughts??
