To the foot tattoos - OUCH! You are braver than me.

Really, I wanted to say that I am enjoying your report and I think your dress is beautiful and I like reading about your wedding, as well as your trip.

Yay!! I'm so glad you are reading.

So yesterday I had my first fitting at David's Bridal and it was awful!!! The woman seemed like she had no idea what she was doing! I had to tell her the places that I thought didn't look right and she was just pin happy. She actually even put a pin in the middle of the bust! What the heck is she going to sew there?!?! So I told her I was going to go somewhere else. She didnt' seemed surprised....

So today I had a REAL dress fitting at a place around the corner from me. It's just one woman who's been there since I can remember and she was awesome! She knew just what to do and made me feel much better about leaving the dress in her hands.

BTW...today is my 99 days until WDW!!!!!!!

So, the invites are printed, assembled and ready to go!!!

To save a little money (and honestly, because I like these better than the hundreds of styles I looked at in books at the hallmark store) we used these kits I found at Michaels. They were regular 39.99 for 30 invites but they were on sale for $$24.99!! Can't beat it! So I bought 3 kits. They were sooo easy to do! The kit comes with a website of the company. You just put in the style name and you can download the templates that fit your invites...for the direction card, mailing label, etc. Honestly, figuring out the wording and making sure I had everyones addresses was the hardest part! Last weekend, I got everything printed then last night I brought everything to my sister's house and she, my best friend and I spent a few hours putting them all together! Here is the final product!!

So even though they are not disney invitations, I had to add a Disney touch. The kit came with stickers to put on the front of the invite. I bought a mickey head punch at the craft store and it was the perfect size for these stickers! So they are the same style as the invite but in the shape of Mickey!!

This is what it looks like when you open it up. The invite is stuck to the center of the envelope and there is a pocket on the left side that holds all the other information.

Here's a close up of what's in the pocket on the left: direction card to church, direction sheet from reception hall, hotel information from hotel and rsvp card and envelope.

Finally, this is the front with the address label.

awesome invites! I'm impressed that a do-it-yourself invitation is so well done. Usually the ones I see in the store to print at home look so cheap looking, KWIM? Yours are great and I love the Mickey touch :thumbsup2

Hi nikki! Your invitations are GORGEOUS!!! I love, love, LOVE your Mickey stickers!! Sorry I haven't been around, I haven't been getting updates!:confused3 Did you have a good week off? Get a lot of stuff done?:thumbsup2

I totally know what you mean! I was also so impressed with how awesome they came out! I kept asking everyone I showed, "They don't look cheap, do they?" because I was so worried they looked like the cost!!

Thanks!!! So glad you like the invites and so glad to hear from you! I've been wondering where you have been. Why haven't you gotten the updates? :confused3 Weird

Obviously, I got a lot done during my week off...invites!! Thank goodness for spring break or else I don't know how I would've gotten them all done without going insane!

So I do NOT like spending money...unless it's on a Disney trip, so I was kind of not looking forward to buying wedding bands. Well, we knew we had to do it so we decided to go today. We wanted to go to The Jewelry Exchange because we figured we might get a good deal but we left early this morning and (good thing!) the place was not opened yet. We had a little time to kill, so we decided to go to the mall, which was right there. Well, we passed by Forunoff and  hey, they are going out of business, maybe we should look there!

Well, they are having crazy going out of business sales and all the jewelry was 50% off then another 10% off. Pickings were kind of slim but that's fine with me, makes it easier for me to decide. We wanted plain and simple and we were able to get exactly what we wanted. I got a 2mm white gold band, originally $125 on sale for $56.25!! Tom got a 3mm platinum (would have been white gold, too, but that's all they had in his size), originally $425 on sale for $191.25.

We just bought $588 worth of bands for $264!! :thumbsup2

I am super excited because my friends at work laughed at me when I told them I was going to find a band for $50 and I just LOVE getting a good bargain!!

AND, since we were right there...we went to my favorite restaurant JOSE TEJAS for lunch!! What a great day!!

One more step in the wedding planning process will be completed tonight. We are meeting with the priest for the 4th time. The first time was just an introduction and he gave us the information on all the pre-cana classes we had to go to. Then we met with him to complete a F.O.C.C.U.S (I have no idea what it stands for), which is sort of a compatablity test!! Last time, we met and discussed the results of the test and now we are meeting to plan out all the little details of the ceremony.

We picked out our readings and our vows. I don't think we are doing any of the extras...unity candle, flowers for Mary, etc. We're not even having a mass...just the plain and simple ceremony.

Did I mention that our priest is Tom's cousin? Makes it a little easier because I usually get super nervous talking to people who I consider authority!

Wish us luck!!

OH BTW, people started receiving our invitations today!!! And we now have $435 on our disneyhoneymoonregisty!!! Woo Hoo!!!:yay:

Awesome news about your wedding bands! What a great bargain! :thumbsup2

Do you know what you are going to use the money on in your honeymoon registry yet? :goodvibes

I'm not sure, but I think we might just use it to pay off the hotel once we get there. I know, it's boring but I'm just too practical to use it for a splurge!

I think I understand why some brides can be "bridezillas!"

So I made it nice and easy on everyone and made a nice long list of things that I want you to buy me...in other words, we made a registry. This is a list telling you, the guest at my shower, exactly what you can buy me. Should NOT be a problem, right?

Well first of all, people felt the need to encourage me, multiple times, and after I already registered, to register "here" not "there." Whatever. At first we didn't register for a lot because we have an apartment and I felt like we didn't need a lot, but if people are going to buy us stuff, why not? So we made a loooong list. Well, like I said I've been stalking the registry and not even a 1/4 of the items have been bought.

Well, my future mother-in-law (whom I LOVE, btw, and who is one of the people trying to get me to register at a different place) tells me that her other daughter-in-law called her so upset the other day that there was nothing on the list she could buy. :confused3: Whatever. Have you loooked, there's a lot. Well, not a lot of "big" stuff. What does that mean?? There is plently of big stuff and how about get a few of the small stuff that I NEED! (I always buy a bunch of small stuff for other people's showers, I think it's nice to put a little package together.)

So then Tom's cousin calls me last night to tell me she's at Sears (not where I registered) and she found a red microwave. Now, I registered for a lot of red kitchen stuff so I know where she's going with this but I have a microwave. So I tell her no thank you. Then she gets pissed "Well, Nikki, if you would have put more stuff on your registry, people would know what to get you." "THERE IS A ****LOAD OF THINGS ON THE LIST!" "Well, Erin said that she couldn't find something..." "WELL ERIN IS FULL OF **** BECAUSE THERE ARE PLENTY OF THINGS THAT ARE ON THE LIST TO BUY!"

It is not my problem that you can't look on the list and find something. I tried to make it as easy as possible for you, I made a nice list of things I want, just buy something from it!! I actually got snippy with her for the first time....and I totally understand the bridezilla thing now! I have other things to think about besides you not being able to find something to buy me. SORRY! Not my problem. CHECK THE LIST!!

In case your interested, the conversation ended with her deciding she is going to get me the red toaster oven....I didn't register for a toaster oven.

Really enjoying reading about your plans for your wedding and your trip. I love your dress and the table decorations are wonderful - a really clever idea!
Looking forward to more!
