Yesterday (Wednesday April 14) we went to the Magic Kingdom. After waking up at 8 a.m. and eating breakfast at Food 'N' Fun Center, we walked to the Magic Kingdom. We arrived at the Magic Kingdom at 9:45 a.m.
First, we explored Main Street. Then we turned towards Tomorrowland. We went on the Timekeeper and Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. I was not sure if I was ready for Space Mountain, so we rode the Tomorrowland Transit Authority.
Space Mountain did not look so bad, so we queued for it. Big mistake! I was very very scared on that ride! I sat in the second seat of the first car. I screamed very loud because I was very scared. My heart POUNDED for another hour.
To calm me down, we skipped Carousel of Progress and went on the Tomorrowland Speedway, where it was laughs and not screams. I kept riding on the edge of the track. Any further I would be driving off the track!
Next was Toontown. We rode the Barnstormer like four times in a row. Goofy sat with me on the fourth time! It was funny. He would squeeze me, pretending to be scared. We explored the Hall of Fame. We skipped the "houses" - we've seen them dozens of times.
In Fantasyland, we rode the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Dumbo, Mickey's PhilarMagic, and It's A Small World. Lunch was at Pinnochio's Village Haus. I ate a simple hamburger.
Next was the Haunted Mansion. It was an "okay" ride. I didn't find it the best. Next was the hilarious Country Bear Jamboree! We never get tired of that show! Our favorite part is when the gloomy bear sings "Blood on the Saddle". It is very funny.
After that was Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. We rode the left track (there are two separate loading areas). I liked screaming at the curvy turns. There were no big drops, so I didn't scream for those. When we popped out of tunnels and guests in Frontierland and on the Liberty Belle Riverboat saw our train, I was a little too hyper and waved.
Next was Splash Mountain. It was sunny and warm, so the line was long. But who cares! We got to ride it. I sat right in front. The drop was not so scary and not as tall as it looks. It was wetter than I expected, but not as tall. It was, however, steeper than I thought.
In Adventureland, we only did Pirates of the Caribbean and the Jungle Cruise (which was actually operating! It's never operating whenever we go!). Dinner was at the Crystal Palace. I love Eeyore! I'm going to frame our picture together along with his autograph on my napkin. Hehe! We browsed the shops. The bought lots of cool things. We watched SpectroMagic at nine p.m.
Then, for the grande Magic Kingdom finale - Wishes! What a different view! I like watching Wishes better from the Magic Kingdom. It's a totally different view and the MK view is better. Watching Wishes every night from the 10th floor of the CR is not the same as watching it in MK. Anyway, we loved the show and videotaped it. It's not digital and I don't want any copying, so I'm keeping it off the Internet.
We got back to the CR around 10:45 p.m. We took the monorail back because we were too lazy and tired now. The park was open until 11 p.m., but people were still in the parks around midnight, which made exiting at 10:25 p.m. easy. Bedtime was at 11:15 p.m. after taking showers and changing for bed.
Today was the Animal Kingdom. First, after waking up at 9 a.m., we ate breakfast at the Concourse Steakhouse. May I reccommend the Mickey Waffle with chocolate shavings and whipped cream as toppings.
We drove to the Animal Kingdom using our rental car. We arrived there at 11:20 a.m. It was late already, and the Animal Kingdom was going to close at 7 p.m., so at least we had some time. First was the Oasis. We snapped pictures of exotic birds and plants. Then it was It's Tough to Be a Bug, just after exploring Discovery Island Trails and snapping pictures of the Tree of Life's amazing animal carvings.
We headed over to Camp Minnie-Mickey only to get pictures of the characters. Then we went to Africa. We explored Pangani Exploration Trail and Kilomanjaro Safaris. Then we climbed aboard the train and headed over to Rafiki's Planet Watch.
Next was Asia. Before heading to Asia, we stopped at an ice cream cart. I ate a frozen strawberry bar which is very good.
We skipped Flights of Wonder, but we explored the Maharajah Jungle Trek. Mom loved snapping pictures of her favorite animals - tigers.
Then, it was Kali River Rapids. In New Jersey, where I live, I live close by to Six Flags Great Adventure. There they have a water rapids ride called Congo Rapids. Kali River Rapids beats it totally! On Congo Rapids, you are lucky if you get wet because hardly anyone does. On Kali River Rapids, everyone gets wet. Plus, KRP has more drops and splashes. Congo Rapids only has one tiny drop and very little wave splashes.
Next was Dinoland U.S.A. We went on Dinosaur! and Chester and Hester's Dino-Rama.
Our day ended at 6:30 p.m. The AK was only open another 30 minutes, and there was nothing good to do, so we left. We drove to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. We were amazed at this amazing resort. However, we would never stay here because it is too isloated.
Dinner was at Jiko - The Cooking Place. I ordered the expensive Chermoula Roasted Chicken, which was roasted chicken with
mashed potatoes, preserved lemons, kalamata olives, roasted garlic, herbs and harissa. It was good.
We drove back to the Contemporary where I am now, dressed in my PJ's. Wishes just ended. I only listened to it. I didn't watch it today. I've seen it too many times now.
Well, I'm returning in May in just 21 days. I cannot believe we are so close! I'm here now and I'll be coming back soon! Cool.
The thread "Problems at the Contemporary" includes something I did not. A little girl died in a car crash, causing the Contemporary to be filled with officers, firefighters, and doctors. I did not want to include it because I wanted to have a happy vacation. I did not want to include my grief for that girl. I was very upset when I heard the news. Okay, I admit it. I cried.
Tomorrow will be the morning at the MK and the afternoon at Epcot so we can watch Illuminations. We skipped Downtown Disney this trip. Our next trip in May will include Downtown Disney.
