WDW Commando Club

:cheer2: 4 more days to go, 4 more days to go:cheer2:

Been sewing up a storm for the last month, so not much time to Dis, I'll post some pics of what i've been working on. I'll also try a small live trip report when I'm there.

Have a Great trip:wave2::woohoo::goodvibes, can't wait to see what you have been working on, Good Luck with this trips new recruits :goodvibes

We will be looking forward to hear any updatespopcorn::

I hope you figure out the funds for your trips:goodvibes Let me know when your going, I will be there late April & Early Nov, maybe we will be there at the same time:confused3

I believe the cruise will have to be a dream deffered this year. Cool beans, I just need my Disney fix, I can cruise next year. With that said, I already know I want no parts of FP+. I hardly find a need to use FP all that much, let alone reserve it.

I think a trip around May 3-11 will be booked in Dec as my X-mas gift to myself. I really really want AKL, but for cost purposes, I may book AoA. Commander, the trip in Nov might be a meet-up opportunity. That Easter time frame is too rich for my blood (all those people:eek:, bring back nighmares, lol). The Nov trip I want to overlap F&W and the X-mas stuff, so probably 7-17th or so. :goodvibes That will def be a split stay with AKV and Boardwalk Villas.

Yes a possible meet up for Nov indeed, We are looking at going Nov 6-9:cool1:

We made it yesterday, at the Westgate lakes, renovations completed 8 days ago :) , so as I told them " I glad I get to be the first one to mess it up"

Waiting for the Walkerducks to arrive but going to go to check in now for the 3 bedroom.

So should I do the little trip report here on this board or start a separate tread?

Your not going to sew the curtains together to show you were there are you :lmao:

Glad to hear you made it and hope you are having a Great time:goodvibes, you can post here or start a thread either way is fine, as long as we get to hear about it:thumbsup2

No they only have blinds, so there will be no sewing now!:rotfl2:

I think we are going to call this trip " a commando's worst nightmare" or " mutiny of squadron Mudduck"

But I'll get into some details later as I get to a free wifi place.

Sounds like there was a storm brewin. Did you make them walk the plank?
Arrgh matie, that sound like a fine idea! tonight it's the Christmas party and all the big ones know to "stick to the plan" or there will be a dear price to pay. If fact 5 minutes ago I retold my hubby, "children DONT lead this family" and other the DH & me everyone else is classified children (even the 20 & 30 yrs olds).

:scared1:sounds like you have a few unruly's there:scared1: Just remind them Christmas is only a few weeks away and Santa is watching them, depending on how good they are during this trip determines what they will get for Christmas:rolleyes1

As far as the older ones (20 & 30yr olds), you could always leave them at the room::yes::

I hope The Christmas Party went well and that everyone is on the same page now:goodvibes

Show em no mercy MaMudduck! ;) I am glad you have arrived safely and as unruly as they are being, I am sure you guys are gonna have a blast! Looking forward to hearing about it!

Ok Commandos, again I need help. I think this Filet Mignon diet I have on this Mconald's budget needs a reality check. I am really good with money, don't get me wrong. However, when I go on vacation, that is what I want a Vacation! :beach: So here's what. . . I have a trip for May 2-May 11 planned, already secured my ADR's and everything. Problem is the resort. I do not care for any of the mods. Port Orleans I could go for because I can utilize the boats, however they are only to DTD so no huge appeal there. That leaves Value and Deluxe. I would only stay in a Villa bc for the price with a special going on, I would get a lot more (whirlpool tub, kithen, space). The only Value I am interested in is AoA and that is because I love Lion King and Nemo. So here is my issue. . . it just does not make sense for me to put out a lot of money on the hotel. I will be in Disney right, so what does it matter where I sleep? I will be getting an AP, so that takes care of the tix. Are the LM rooms at AoA just as nice? Should I spurge on the Villa (AK or Boardwalk) or should I just wait for the big Christmas trip? I am so confused. I have always stayed at the bogger hotels (Shades of Green, Contemporary, Swan and Dolphin). Any suggestions? Any resorts you guys like that I may be mis-judging? Thanks guys :goodvibes

Okay, so you all can disregard that last message :lmao:. After further review, we have decided on POR in a riverview room. . . I think, lol. I am not doing deluxe this trip, the cost is just too high and not justified for this trip where we won't spend enough time in the room. If we get a discount (one should be offered during our time in May) the cost is about the same of AoA. I would like opinions of POR vs. POFQ as I have never stayed at either. Thanks guys, you guys are lifesavers :goodvibes

You could try renting points at OKW? They have really large 1 BRs for lower point totals.

I haven't stayed at any of them yet, although I have been there, the only thing I can really say is that Boatwright Dinning Hall was very good but if your not staying at one of the POR's it is kinda of a pain to go to:rolleyes1

I'm very excited about the results of this month:confused3

Well more like opinions on the Magicbands

This month we have our own Mamudduck there now

and I have 3 families that are there or going soon

1 that has been there foe 8 days now, 1 that just got there today and will br there for 10 days , and 1 going in 2 weeks, now this could be a game changer for me and a way to master the magic bands, the 3 families that I know, 1 I gave no info too (didn't know they were going), 1 I gave info to and they will text if they run into problems, and the other I also gave info to they have no kids so it's a different agenda:cool1:

so my goal is to suck as much info out of everyone that went to see what everyone's experience was and maybe be able to put a solid plan together:confused3

Thank you. I did look into renting points, but the availability is not really there. I also need to save up more for a deluxe trip. I will look into OKW though, I do love Olivia's. GREAT food!

I believe I have made a decision I can live with. . . POR!!! May 2-11, 2014 Riverview room  There should be a discount coming out soon. This will be my X-mas gift to myself which I will use my bonus on. The more I think about it, the more excited I become. I love peddle boating and water is calming for me, so all-in-all I think this is going to be wonderful:cloud9:

I have devised a plan too. . . take money to book a BB offer, use said BB for my Nov trip; book another BB trip in Nov for May 2015. . . REPEAT!!! At that rate I can go to Disney FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Muaaahahahahahahahahaha
:rotfl: ok ok ok, maybe the whole take over the world sentiment is too much, but I am very excited at the prospect of being able to continue this Disney legacy for myself. :goodvibes

because I have an AP, and we aren't staying on site we don't have magic bands, but I can tell you that I wished I did! I find it really annoying that MB can "book" 3 fast pass at a time and I can't :( so with this motley crew here now, I have to resort to me being the runner -the old way.
I have been watching people with them and I haven't seen problems. And I did ask someone how they liked using the MB and the said they "liked them- especially for photos" but this people we're by no means "commandos" or very experienced WDW goers.

I already using my Disney Experience so I really wanted to using MB to track everything.

This experienced commando has a love hate relationship with magic bands. They worked every time with no issues from 10/27-11/03. The rules changed a little allowing only one premier attraction per day. Luckily, we missed that nonsense, which I hate. For Epcot, AK and HS, three passes were enough and I loved not running all over the park. For MK, 3 passes are not nearly enough. People without magic bands were allowed to get way more than three. I did not like that at ALL. Once they make it all fair, I think the fastpasses will be a great thing. If you are wearing a magic band and try to get a traditional fastpass, they will stop you!

So if you can get a FP for later in the evening that is a plus, since we usually hit at least 2 parks a day and that 2nd park after dinner usually has no FPs left so this could come in handy.

But now for the main reason I don't like the system:confused3, I don't want to wear the Magicband, I don't wear any type of bracelets, necklace, rings etc, and don't really want to start:headache:

My idea plan is to dump these Magicbands in a locker when we get into a park, since we will not have DP, and if we don't link our APs to them, we would not really need them until a EMH:confused3

Even if this means we wouldn't be able to get a FP it would be worth it, since we really don't use FP's much anymore ( averaged like 1 a day last trip some days 0), with all the new things they have FP's for now (parades, shows, fireworks, meet &greats) I think the writing is on the wall that this will be a extra pay for service in the future, just like all the other theme parks out there::yes:: IMO in the future this will be offered free instead of the DP offer:rolleyes1

I you think that might sound far fetched, back in the day most places didn't charge for parking either:eek:

I am trying to plan out our days in July. I have gone to Touring plans and I did not like the plans much. I have us planned for rope drop to do what we want during the EMH for MK in FL. We are not wanting to do everything FL has to offer, I couldn't find a plan that worked for me. I am coming up with one on my own.

It's been a few weeks since I've been in our thread due to being in the retail food bis, with the Holidays and a few snow storms it has been quite busy:scared1:

Yopu all know my stance on the new Magic bands & FP+, and with a confirmed 3 trips for this year with a possible 5 trips, you know I'm going top play with it:thumbsup2

I do have a question for AP holders, We are planning to get AP's this year, now can they be used for multiple parks in 1 day:confused3
