WDW Commando Club

I'm really glad I found this group! My 16 yo daughter & I are doing a 'commando' trip Easter weekend. We're driving down from VA Thursday to Jacksonville, then headed to AoA to check-in by 6:30am Friday. We plan on being at the MK for ropedrop, we have FP+ lunch at BOG, dinner ADR at BOG and Wishes Dessert Party & we plan on being in the park until closing at 2am!

Saturday, ADR breakfast w/EMH at AK, then PH to Epcot for our FP+, everything else we can fit in, walk around the world showcase, ADR dinner at Rose & Crown then Illuminations.

Sunday, DHS all day... My DD wants to ride ToT at least a dozen times, no joke. We have ADR for Mama Melrose Fantasmic pkg, so we'll stick around until closing then PH back to MK to ride everything we can until 1am.

Then it's up & on the road home Monday morning for the 12 hour ride back :)

At least that's how I'm hoping it works out!

:welcome: You are member #248 :cool1:, Your plans sound good:thumbsup2, the only thing I'm not to sure about is ToT 12 times:eek::scared1: After a couple times it would definitely put me out of commission:rolleyes1 I wish you all the best with ToT:thumbsup2

I will be arriving a few days after you leave, I know the crowds will be heavier but looking at last years hours they had morning EMH's starting at 7am and MK open till 1 am:woohoo: The extra hours especially the early morning should be very useful to Commandos:banana:

Hey guys!!! I miss you all. I have been MIA with the new job and I moved to a new apartment. I canceled my May trip, 2nd trip I have had to cancel. No bueno. This next trip (November) is happening! My financial savvy has been paying off and I'm definitely set with vacation time. Will keep you all posted.

Commander that makes sense about FP+ and makes me feel better. Still not sure about the Magic Bands but hey, as long as I can tour and do Disney my way, I'm happy.

I've been MIA too, and it's a very long story...but quickly I've been on short term disability leave from work since beginning of Feb.- Found out after much pain & agony that I have a pinched nerve in my neck which means no work-y for me for a while (or roller coasters :( )- So since I can't work: what's a Commando to do?...

Go to Disney of course!!!! so this very instant i'm trying to find super, super cheap way to get there by the end of this week :scared1:
The super commando challenge!- I'm going solo and have decided that i'm going to do some major travel writing and send to newspapers and travels site.

It's too bad you won't be there, but hopefully we can still meet up in Nov. (you know, every trip when we thought we could meet at, you "suddenly" cancel...it might make one think someone is trying to avoid them  )

Any one else there next week- until Mar. 30 ?

Hope you feel better soon , that is a good idea with the travel writing, if someone picks it up it could mean free trips to WDW to cover some events:confused3

Hi everyone,
Just noticed this thread! We're going in May and have a pretty intense spreadsheet going. I love just how much more detailed we can plan things now that we have FP+! Would be honored to join the ranks... Just reading thru some of the recent pages now...

Once I'm in my "happy place" again, I will definitely feel way better! even if I can't ride RnR:(

So far I have the hotel booked from Friday Mar 21- Mar 31. (off site $41 p/n Avanti Resort) But haven't got a flight from Buffalo booked yet. I'll try again tomorrow. I have a AP that I bought back on Dec. trip (thus the main reason for going now, ticket are basically free)

So tell me Commandos: what would you do on a 10day solo trip?

I've had solo days but never a SOLO WDW trip. :thumbsup2

:welcome: You are member #249 :cool1: Are you planning to go to Food & Wine Festival or MNSSHP during your trip:confused3
You bet your DB (Disney Butt) I am! :rotfl: My first for BOTH! I've scheduled two days at Epcot. It's my favorite park anyhow, but I know F&W is going to make me want to spend even more time there. :woohoo:

Okay, guys for SURE this time. . . my official dates are Nov 7-16. The ONLY thing that may change this time, I may shift the dates (a day forward a day behind).

Commander, you guys take a trip around that time right?

MaMudduck noooooo:sad1: I PROMISE it is not you! Last year was just too much too soon once i got the new job and May :sad2: that just makes me sad to think about. BUT I just got something tat confirmed I am going in November. . . I found a AKV value room :woohoo: YESSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!! I am actually working on putting down the deposit as we speak. I will have to do a split stay (I will likely do POR for a few days beforehand). As SOON as I book, I will let you know. . . not ADR's, but firm payment to Disney:goodvibes

MaMudduck, sorry to hear about the nerve. Very smart idea about writing tho:thumbsup2 Well, with this new found time off, I will let you know once I book the irreversible. . . my plane tickets! :rotfl:Then we can really plan a meet up;)

Flower and Garden definitely! It is like a beautified F&W. I would go all around the showcase a day or two and take it all in.

Tours, there are a million of them all over. Animal Kingdom lodge has a few food tasting tours (Dine with an Animal Specialist, free tour at Boma or Jiko, and their different Safari's). A few other resorts offer them as well.

All the different places to view Fireworks, I'd go to Cali Grill one night, then Ohana another, then the Poly beach, etc. . .

Basically, all of the things that I put on the "back burner" in favor of my coasters, I'd do on this trip.:thumbsup2 SHOPPING!!! Can't forget that.

I agree with this although I would add a few things, I would catch All the shows in the World Showcase, go to the concerts during the Flower & Garden Fest, make sure to see The Jungle Parade at AK since they are canceling it in June:headache: Watch the Water Pageant Parade from one of the resorts, go to DTD at night and catch some outside entertainment, explore the resorts. I'm sure I can come up with more but that is all I can think off right now:eek:
