WDW Commando Club

Commando on a full belly. That's the way to do it. I always like that extra special treatment Some of the places provide. Question: How was the price at Shula's compared to another steak restaurant at WDW you've been too?

Good question, I'll go with the one that is really popular LeCellar, now keep in mind on what you can get for 1 Table Credit at some places, LeCellar is now 2 Table Credits, if you got the dining plan for free it doesn't really matter, but I'm going to base this all on if you are paying out of pocket since Shula's is not on the dining plan:thumbsup2

LeCeller - 12 oz Strip Steak $44, comes with sides
Shula's - 16 oz Strip Steak $46, entree only, sides are separate (note sides are steakhouse portions and can easily be shared among a few people each side is approx $9)

LeCeller - 8oz Filet Mignon - $43 comes with sides
Shula's - 12 oz Filet Mignon- $49 entree only

For what the two have in common pricing is really not far off Shula's has bigger portions but you have to pay extra for sides, but the sides are generous portions that are enough for a few people. Now if you were using the DP at Le Celler you would be paying more then you would at Shula's

I like LeCeller don't get me wrong, but as far as quality meat ( Norm I know you like a good steak, and I know you know I'm the same way, and let's face it we are not the small guy's we like our eating) Shula's has them all beat big time when it comes to variety of cuts, I always get The 24oz prime rib at $48 and has no bone, but when you compare the 10oz prime rib at Olivia's is $27.99 (don't remember if it had a bone or not) it is a good price for over double:thumbsup2

They offer a 24 oz Porterhouse for $48 and if you are really hungary you could get a 48oz Porterhouse for $97

I got The Prime Rib, my wife had Blacked Salmon, we got 2 sides, and together had 3 cocktails the bill came to $137 plus tip all in all not that bad :confused3

Lol. A quick nap on Universe of energy!

Sounds like you had a great day at Epcot. Your dinner at Shula's sounds fantastic. Glad you enjoyed it. Happy belayed anniversary.

Hey that a good solid half hour of sleep, usually get max 5hrs a night sleep at WDW, so thats 10% right there, when you see a chance take it:rotfl2:

Thank You:goodvibes

That sounds about right, and yes, I like my steak". We are going to Shula's in a couple weeks. My initial plan was to order some surf and turf, since I like lobster as well. But, I may just save that for Fulton's. Filet or Prime Rib are the cuts I usually order.

Day 6 contd.

We are on our way to MK from Epcot via the Monorails it's already after 8pm, by the time we got into MK it was around 8:50, we walk in and it's wall to wall people waiting for the parade that's almost ready to start:crazy2: My friend says oh well I guess we are going to see the parade again:rolleyes1, I've been in this spot before I know we can get throgh the crowd but it's going to take some time, then I barely hear something and Ultimate Commando mode kicks in, I tell everyone up the stairs, what I heard was the train coming:yay:

We got on the train and it was the last one out of Main Street for the night, and we made our escape:thumbsup2 We got off over in Frontier land and had a 15 min wait for Splash Mountain got off and waited for only 3 trains on Big Thunder, when we got off we wanted to get to POTC when we got to the crossing the parade was by Country Bears and we just made it across pirate:, we walked right on POTC & Jungle Cruise now the parade was over so we did the Tiki Room, when we got out everyone was getting ready for the fireworks so next we walked on It's A Small World, headed to Space Mountain with a 30min wait, when we got off we were now into the EMH's, next we went on Buzz SRS, then BTM again along with Jungle Cruise the we decided to leave a little early to avoid the big bus line, worked like a charm, when our bus was leaving you could see people flooding out of the park heading for the buses:lmao:

Next up Day 7 Busch Gardens on a Sat, What Was I Thinking

I always like the different steak cuts visual presentation, You know what your getting and the Waiter's know what they are talking about and can answer any questions you may have about the cuts:thumbsup2

Also they do have a child's menu

You're not kidding about getting 5 hours of sleep. Considering you were up early and stayed up late (which DH no longer allows for us), I am glad you got that 30 minute nap. I have been trapped by a parade before. We had a late dinner at LTT and got caught by Spectromagic. Luckily, they still seated us even though the restaurant was only open for 10 more minutes when we arrived. Funny thing is we ate and were out of there in about 20 or so minutes (including visiting all the characters). I did not care for the food, and the characters are gone. We only dine there for lunch now. There were still quite a few tables dining when we left. Glad you had the train to bail you out though.

You got a lot done. I am impressed.

That was cool that they let you in 10 mins before closing:thumbsup2

Over the years I have come up with a list of great quick nap spots, that we will take advantage of when needed

- Universe of Energy
- American Adventure
- Carousel of Progress
- Hall of Presidents

All of them are in the A/C with dimmed or no lights and are perfect to catch a few zzz's:rolleyes1

It just hit my wife and son that there is no WDW trip for this Nov, since we took a extended one in August, our next trip is planned for July/August, but I have a feeling a quick spur of the moment 4day trip may occur before then:confused3

My son is telling me I better win Park Hoppers at the gift auctions we go to:lmao:

:cool1::yay::cheer2: 12 days is a awesome amount of time to spend at WDW you can take it at a nice leisurely pace :thumbsup2 In a kinda related story a customer of mine just came back a few weeks ago from her 1st trip to WDW, she said this was going to be it, never again she went with her DH,DD,DGS & DGD, well she came up to me and said I used to think it was all overrated but I now that I've been there I understand why you go to WDW all the time, in fact she said I'm already trying to figure out when to go back, maybe just with my husband this time, she said she wants to try to go every year or more, I've seen her husband since then and he's on the same page, he's Mr 2 heart attacks workaholic never go anywhere, I'm happy for them and with the DGS & DGD they now have the excuse to go whenever:thumbsup2

This! ^^^^

There is just something magical about a Disney vacation. Whether you tour leisurely like my DH or commando style like me, very few people do not get "lost" in the magic. I adored Disneyland as a kid. When my DH suggested WDW for our honeymoon, I remember thinking why there! The magic faded a bit. It returned the moment I had kids. From the moment my older DS went to Disneyland at 4 months, I was hooked all over again. Now, my DH asks why the majority of our trips involve Disney. My younger son had his first WDW trip and DCL trip at 5 months old. He loved every minute of it.

To the pp who may only get one trip, I know there could be a number of reasons. I am truly happy for you!

It's been a crazy couple of months. I received far less $$$ than expected from ICBC, and as a result our WDW trip as be delayed till 2017. I'm for the most part recovered from the accident, but DS10 continues to have problems with his left shoulder. We are now finally working on getting it better, thanks to delays is getting our medical records from our now retired doc. In true Commando fashion, we are flying out to a wedding 2 days before my Nov solo trip to DL. Flying out the evening of Friday, go to the wedding Sat, then fly back Sat evening. Then fly out for my solo trip Sunday morning. Family really wanted to go to the wedding and thanks to a seat sale, we were able to go. The 2 trips basically has given me no end of grief trying to get it all sorted out, but have it figured out for the most part. Hope everyone had great trips to WDW the past couple of months!

Day 7 Busch Gardens Tampa on a Sat, what was I thinking:scared1:

Since no EMH's were going on at WDW this day I thought it would be a great day to visit Busch Gardens and there water park Adventure Island:confused3, well we get to the water park, whats up with the parking lot, so many mini hills & dips, If I owned it I'd get some great lighting and make it a skateboard park at night::yes:: , as far as the water park I liked it but it was a little small:confused3

After the water park we hit Busch Gardens, we were parked in the Kingdom (we were way out there:worried:) When we got into the park it seemed everyone in Tampa was there:scared1:The smaller rides even had close to a hour wait:sad:, so we did all the walk through animal exhibits, did a few smaller rides, caught a show and by 5 I decided a hasty retreat would be better then a bad stand::yes:: So the new plan was to go back to the resort (70min trip) eat, my wife and son to go to the pool and then see the movie they were playing, and I would do the laundry:confused3 Did I just say that:scratchin

Now to be fair, this was usually the day we would leave, and we would usually do BG during the week, but with all the extra days this trip, this was a learning experience and it will never happen again::yes::

Now while my wife and son were at the pool and movie, and I got a load of laundry in, I started doing exploring of the resort, after I got a load in the washer and dryer I wondered a bit further, in fact I ended up exploring All Star Music & Sports also, come on really did you think I was going to stay still:lmao:

Next up Day 8 Mini Golf, Disney Quest, MK EMH's

My husband had a headhunter reach out to him for a job in Tampa. We actually humored the idea for a bit, because that would mean a lot of extra WDW trips. I am glad nothing happened though, because I do not want to move. We may check out Busch Gardens in the future if we can ever venture off Disney property.

We rarely do laundry on a trip but did some on our last cruise. I needed to get into the shower after swimming with the dolphins, so I asked my DH to start the load. I did not have time to start it and still make it on time to dinner. My DH did not need a shower as he watched our older DS and I from the side with our younger DS. He put the whites and colors in one machine with warm water. All of the light clothes turned purple. It is good that some husband's know how to do the laundry.

Glad you had time to explore. That is the best part of staying at the resorts.

to put it bluntly money. My DH going on social security for his back and I will also go on SS for my many health issues. I won't bore you with the details but just don't think we will have the funds to do another trip. Even though I am a complete Disney nut. We are using money I got from a work accident to pay for this trip.......Our big hurrah as they say......so I will take tons of pics for my scrapbook :)
