WDW Commando Club

My vote is for July & Aug, when it get's hot and humid!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2! I know the agony of the wait, as my DL solo trip is not till the end of Nov. It's turning into a Commando trip, as on Thurs I won 2 tickets to Knott's Berry Farm, which I now have to squeeze into my trip schedule somewhere. I've never gone to Knott's, so am looking forward to seeing it for the first time. I know nothing about it, so am doing alot of research on it via the net at the moment.

Commando planning for non-Disney trips. The madness never ends. :lmao:

I commando plan the zoo though, so I'm right the with you.

Commando planning is not limited to WDW, Commando planning is a way of life!

I too Commandoize our trips to other places besides Disney, most I consider training for Disney:thumbsup2, yes even for the zoo, it really does matter where you start::yes::

I love our motto, and it's perfect for the way we plan trips. To me knowledge is power, and the more research you do, the better your trip will be. By doing the research, you avoid the basic mistakes that the average person makes when planning a trip. And you end up accomplishing a great deal more than the average tourist. Safe to say that since I know very little about Knott's I'm doing tons of research, so when I do go, I'll know exactly what I want to do. So that I'll accomplish everything that I want to do there. It's the Commando way!

Purchased our Seaworld Entertainment platinum passes, now when I need a Commando fix, I can go to Seseme Place, Sea World, Busch Gardens (Williamsburg or Tampa) and any of their watermarks, along with preferred parking, until 12/31:cool1:

Of course in August we will be taking advantage of BG Tampa & Seaworld along with the water parks, that will pay for the passes on it's own:thumbsup2
Any visits to Seseme Place and BG Williamsburg will be freebie's and I intend to wear the pass out until the scanner at the entrance says "you again":rotfl2:

Sesame Place?

Well you know how the song goes " can you tell me how to get to Sesame Street" My answer is Yes, Yes I can:thumbsup2, it's in Langhorne PA, it is a Sea World owned park, it's a water park, has regular dry rides, shows, parade & character meet & greets:cool1:, it is about a hour from us so it's a great place to go to get away for a little while:goodvibes

The Busch Garden parks the last couple years have built smaller versions of some of Sesame Places rides, and now do meet & greets with some characters

Thought you guys would get a chuckle out of this. My foray into a non Disney park (Knott's Berry Farm), has turned into a fact finding mission for the Christmastime thread for the Disneyland forum. So I'm going undercover to get current info on what Knott's has in the way of decorations and entertainment, and what has the park has to offer during Christmas. The DL board's Christmas time thread doesn't have anything current regarding this, so am going to do up an elaborate trip report for it once I get back from my trip, loaded with pics. Time to get out the long trench coat, spy glass, and the secret decoder ring.:sail::sail::sail: Have a great day everyone!!

I am going to attempt to be a reformed ride Chicken on this trip. My accident has given a fresh perspective on life, and am now ready to at least try some wilder rides on this trip, that I've avoided in the past. However I'm still a photographer a heart, and will always love taking pics. And a closet graphic artist (I can now add that to my resume, as I created a logo for my DH's union, after what they came up with was really bad:eek::eek::eek: ). They are going to use one of my designs as their new logo, which is awesome!:cheer2:

Commandoing for free is the best way to Commando,:thumbsup2 :scratchin or maybe you won those tickets because it's a trap:scared1:, they want to find out all the Disney info you know about what's going on that week, and what better way then with free tickets:rolleyes1:lmao:

The best kind of Commando is when you do it for free!!:cool1::cool1: I need the laugh, as the shoulders are really acting up today. The kids had a hip hop concert yesterday. The darn folding chairs that they provided for the parents watching it, killed my shoulders, the curve and neck (GRUMBLE!!):sad2:. Sigh...one step forward, two steps back. Hate dealing with the insurance co, but at least I've got DS9 into physio as of next week, which he really needs. The upcoming trip is keeping me sane for the most part, but it get's frustrating with how much I can't do these days. At least the curve in my spine is starting to correct itself, which is something.:upsidedow

A Disney trip always does a body good (well, maybe it does the mind and spirit good so we can psych ourselves into believing the body is good as well). Feel better Belledozer:goodvibes I have a birthday, spring break and maybe even a job response next week:cool1: I forgot to tell you guys. . . I got a car!!! I am super excited, in fact, it got me to the last minute job interview I had today. I will keep you all posted. I get to finally update my PTR too, it needs it.

Congrat's on the car!!!!:cool1::cool1: Just be careful out there, and drive as if everyone's out to get you. It's worked well for me over the years, as I rarely have accidents with this mentality. I'm always anticipating what the other driver's around me are going to do. To keep my sanity intact I bought a knitting loom, and have started making scarves for our friends for Christmas to keep me out of mischief. And keep the frustration at bay for the most part. Good luck with the job interview!!

Congrats on your car:thumbsup2

I was looking at The Flower & Garden Event, and I must say that when you are there something is going on that I got excited about, you may have overlooked it, but it is something your Mom might like more then you:confused3

May 10-12 Herman's Hermits with Peter Noone will be performing, They might be way before your time but you might know some of there songs such as Bus Stop, Mrs Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter, I'm Into Something Good, I'm Henry The VIII I Am, etc. This is one of those opportunities that you can do , that your Mom and yourself might enjoy and it's free:thumbsup2

If nothing else you can actually say that you have seen one of the original British Invasion Bands perform::yes::

You should design a WDW Commando scarf, I know there are none of them out there:thumbsup2

Thanks for the congrats guys:goodvibes Yes, I took my mom for a ride and we were at the light, the car coming to a stop behind me was going too fast so I moved forward a little. My mom laughed and said "I don't blame you hun, your gonna keep your car in tact." Exactly:thumbsup2 I believe the job interview went well. Good news is they must fill positions to keep up with the demand for their business. They don't have a lot of time to interview and they don't have a lot of applicants. This means I have a pretty good chance qualified or not (which I am, it is a call center) and over time availability and they are flexible while I go to school. Win-win all around:cool1:

I will make sure we try, thanks for letting me know. I usually do know music before my time, but nope don't believe I know them. It does not look like we will spending too much time at Epcot do to my mom wanting to relax and other stuff I have us scheduled for. I know were not doing too much in FW though. Probably just Captain EO, Journey into Imagination w/ Figment (I heard it changed, don't know how I feel about this), Spaceship earth, maybe energy, Test track and Soarin'. Pretty much if we can get to Epcot both days for a couple hours one day we can do FW and the other day WS and just eat and listen to music.

I agree about the scarf. I crochet, so if you need ideas, let me know.

Who knew we were commandos...we were just trying to soak in everything Disney!

One of our Disney traveling philosophies:
Nap in the room? What? And miss all the FUN! This is a Joyner vacation, baby! NAP AT HOME!

And so, feeling we just might qualify for the label, I humbly request to be a member of this group of like-minded souls.:grouphug:
