After making my ADR's for next August, it got me reflecting as to where I have already eaten, so I started putting together my list of TS restaurants that I have tried at WDW.



I believe this is all of them, but I may be missing one or two, will have to check with DW to see if she can recall any others....

One park vs multiple parks in a day

There's nothing wrong either way

Myself I prefer more then 1 park, my reasoning is after the rope drop I head deep into the park and backtrack, getting a ton of stuff done with no lines, somewhere in the day the crowd catches up and the playing field gets way too level for me, this is when I start doing rides that hold a lot of people at once (Monsters Inc, Muppets, Tough to be a Bug, Universe of Energy etc) then we leave the park for a early dinner ADR, I try for the 5pm seating so there is no waiting and it's in and out, I try to make them outside the parks, this makes for a easy slip to another park Once we are at another park it's all fresh again, all new things to do that day, most of the crowd is deep in the park and you can knock out stuff most do 1st.

We've done that strategy as well. I just felt like we lost too much time in transportation - walk from park to transport, transport to new park, walk into new park - that we just decided to do one and done. We eat around 5 (or earlier) for same reason - avoid crowd, rest, and then refreshed to close down the park.

DVC has helped as well. Since I know we are going once or twice a year, i am ok with skipping a really long line because i can do it again later.

So far I have nothing made,, since I'm staying off site everything 180 days to the day, so since my 1st ADR will be on Mon, I called this morning but ressie's are doing maintenance till 3, so it looks like i'll get to make 2 days worth tonight But since they are not Character or Sig meals I don't see a problem getting the time I want, we will see



I'm not sure if they take the ADR or if I have to call directly for Schula's, I'll have to ask

For the end of the week it's T-Rex & House Of Blues, I'm not making a ADR for them since I'm planning to be at them early at a off time around 4, you can eat just about anywhere in DTD at that time and just walk in

And the most important one of the trip
I got the 12noon ressie for Harmony Barbershop

Finally finished reading all the pages. I am not making any ADRs because not really into the whole plan a time for my meal idea plus I do not want to spend a ton on meals, so I'm thinking unless I can get FD which I'm not expecting(booked with a room only pin) I will stick to QS OOP and save money than paying for dining plan and having to plan my rides and FPs around any ADRs anyway. Even though it is our honeymoon we aren't all into the romantic type dinner settings either, much rather spend our time on attractions or seeing shows. That being said we want to ride every attraction once and see every show/parade once (excluding anything specifically for kids ie Disney Jr show, Boneyard etc). We don't really plan to spend much time on characters unless we can spare some time and there's no line for them (except for Goofy, we might have to hunt him down, future DH HAS to meet him for some reason). We are getting PHs for 5 days but I only plan to hop on 1 day to finish anything we missed (if we did) mainly EPCOT or ride anything again that we really liked. So essentially our goals are to see all shows/parades/fireworks/and attractions in 5 days. Possible for 2 adults who plan to make RD all but the 1 day and have no ADRs or kids to deal with I do not plan on doing any EMHs because I picked my park days using UT crowd calendar and TP suggested parks and none of the suggested parks were EMH parks.

Here are my tentative plans.

Monday 6-18- arrive at MCO at 8:40am, get rental car, go to AS Sports for check in, hopefully get to EPCOT by noon(?)

Tuesday 6-19- non Disney park day

Wed 6-20 MK

Thursday 6-21 AK

Friday 6-22 DHS

Sat 6-23-sleep in a bit/finish EP, park hop, swim(?) DTD(?), shop(?), tour other resorts(?)

Sun 6-24- Non Disney park day

Mon 6-25- check out and fly out from MCO at 11:55 am

I have a couple of suggestions, I know you said your not looking for a romantic dinner, but a late night stroll on the Boardwalk or Watching The Electric Water Pageant from a beach at the Poly, GF or the Contemp, or the dock at the Contemp is a great way to reflect on your day while having a little special time

As far as meeting Goofy it's a guy thing, but you can meet him as pirate Goofy at POTC, in Epcot he is in the main meet & greet area, and in AK you can find him at the meet & greet near The Lion King

While it is a little more crowded in June, since you are a party of 2, you may have a good chance at a TS walk-up without an ADR. That is more money, but it is your honeymoon. I'm not all up on the big romance either, but knock her socks off with something fun.

When DW and I honeymooned in WDW, we walked up to Fulton's. Now, we came from the theme parks all day, stinking, and I was wearing a sleeveless shirt. I didn't know it was a signature dining. They hid us in a corner somewhere, but we had the best server and of course, the best food. Now, 12 years later, Fulton's is still one of our favorites, and everytime we see it, we think of how much fun we had.

I was checking out the list of events for Leap Day, I must say I am impressed with all the Meet & Greets planned all night long, lots of opportunity to to make full use of time if you are planning to be there all night

50s Prime Time-- Not worth the trip or the wait. Been there twice and each time the food and service was awful. The camp is not worth the experience.

Yeah, I've heard mixed review...

But we are on DDP, and to be honest there is not a lot of "great" choices at DHS.

We've done Hollywood and Vine (and to be honest didn't mind it).
We've done Sci Fi - kids loved it, but my food was bland and tasteless.
We've done Mama Melrose, and it was just average...

We've never done Brown Derby, and being 2 credits, we don't have the extra credit to spare this trip.

So that leaves us with trying something new.

I've heard LOTS of comparisons between Sci Fi and 50's, and the consensus is almost always 50's.

I don't expect it to be an outstanding meal, but we will give it a try and see how it goes.

Oh, and we are doing F! that night, so I'd rather not leave the park, just to return back.

50s is way, way, way better than Sci Fi. Food and service. Your waitress will treat you like family-- literally. Ours "yelled" at my wife for not eating her green beans that came with her delicious fried chicken.

My original post meant to say choose 50s PT and that the camp at Sci Fi does not overcome the poor food and lame service.

Brian, I've only had the Cheeseburger at Sci Fi and always enjoyed it. But I want to try 50"s.

We leave in 31 days for a two day trip to the world. No ADR's other than Kona the day we leave. We not really planning much with the days being 10/10. We're going to Epcot on the 1st day and doing QS to eat, maybe Norway, it's always good. We are driving so we're going to park at Epcot. We want to hop the Monorail up to Poly to see the Electric Water Pageant and then Wishes. Then ride the Monorail back to Epcot. I'm kind of concerned that with Epcot closed by then it won't be running there.
Day two is MK, rp to closing. Again QS, not sure where. Pecos Bill, Cosmic Ray's and Columbia are at the top of the list.

If it's crowded, we're not looking to do a lot of rides, we plan on taking lots of pictures of the park and just enjoying ourselves. Oh yeah, we are getting a Dole Whip Float or Two!

I had the Rib-Eye... which was dry and bland.

Which, by the way - leads to my tip on Free Dining (or DDP in general).

Just because you can order anything on the menu without worrying about price - the most expensive is not always the best.

I have heard there burgers are good, but didn't try it.

Sci-Fi is cool atmosphere but blah food and service. We are going to the Brown Derby again. We've never been to 50s, but after I looked at the menu, the only thing I considered ordering was fried chicken. Hello, you can't have KFC without the K. So, Brown Derby had a great steak and the Cobb salad was great as well. If you don't have it to spare, while I dislike wasting travel time, it is a boatride to the Epcot resorts. There you have Captain's Grille, Cape May, Kouzzina, ESPN Club (are they on dining plan), and Beaches N Cream as options.

At HS, IMO none of the restaurants do anything for me, I would use a QS and go to Fairfax Fare, Last time I had a 1/2 slab of ribs and my wife had a chili dog, both were good, to me it's the best QS in HS

The only TS we have done in HS was Hollywood & Vine Fantasmic package, we were disappointed, the food was OK but our issue had to do with bad service and our area was not as clean as it should have been
