Been MIA for a little bit - we had a baby girl December 11! Already trying to figure out when we can take the little princess. DH thinks we shouldn't take her until she's at least 2, but why not take her before that when she's still free?! And I can't bear the thought of waiting 2 years before our next trip...
Back to the topic here though - yes, I think your tastes were very similar, so if you like it, I'm sure he would too.

From the neophyte here it looks really good Ron. IYHO how many days does a person who's never seen Epcot before need?? I may have to talk DH into adding a day in Orlando, and have one day less in Maryland, as I'd like to have 1 down day to explore the resort and DTD. Since it's so far out, will have to twist his arm closer to booking. So we'll see how that goes. The kids are already saving for the trip by stealing all my change (with exception of the quarters, they're MINE). They should have a good chunk of spending money by the time of the trip. And me rolling change for hours on end closer to the trip LOL!
Pardon me for my ignorance of the closeness of the parks in relation to each other. Is it easy to catch a bus from one park to another?? I'm going to have to print off a map to get a better idea of how close the parks are to each other. But it does make sense to hop between the parks. I guess I'm too used to DL, where it's less than a mins walk between the parks LOL!
My FIL booked the timeshare for us yesterday, so we are official August 19-25
Let the planning begin![]()
The big difference between DL & WDW is that the WDW property is the size of Manhattan (approx 26sq miles)
Damn, I'm going to miss doing the EMH at MK with you, that was a blast. Alread tossing out ideas for next year though![]()
Yegads I had no idea that the Orlando WDW complex was so huge. Sounds like a new pair of walking shoes will be needed. I copied the info about the buses down from the poster you mentioned, and found a good set of maps online yesterday that give me a better idea of where everything is in relation to each other. This should give me a better idea for planning the trip. Have a great day everyone!!

Any excuse to buy new shoes! But just make sure you break them in and do some "practice" walking before your trip. And I also recommend taking an alternate pair of shoes to change into if your walking shoes cause problems! My so-called comfy shoes caused a blister after spending all day walking around at the WDW parks one year and I didn't bring any other shoes at all! I learned my lesson the hard way!
On another note.....I've never had so little time to plan my trip before! I did what I consider a crash course trip planning but since I'm obsessive, I keep going over and over my options again! I'm gonna take my kids on Characters in Flight for the first time this trip and also go to DisneyQuest for the first time (I can get discounted tickets through work so I figured now was a good time!) and I'm second guessing the days we'll do those things. I gotta quit trying to change everything!![]()
I'm curious to find out what you think of DisneyQuest, but there is no way I would think about CIF, I can't even go up a 6ft ladder without almost freezing up![]()
I tried my tried, true, and broken in Fitflops on the DL trip in Sept/11. I've taken them on every trip since I discovered them 2 yrs ago, and have had no problems with them, or my back when using them. Problem was that we were extreme Commando the entire trip, and at the end of the 3rd day I actually had blisters which was a huge surprise. And since I had packed so light, I didn't pack a second pair of shoes. So I put some bandaids on the blisters, and ignored the pain from them. I'm thinking of picking up a pair of Vibrams Five finger shoes this summer and see how they work out. I noticed people wearing them in the parks, so they must be comfortable. Now that I'm feeling healthier, I'm wanting to get out walking more. I did pick up a couple of books from the library yesterday on WDW so I have some more general info. I'm an extreme over planner, and I have to be, as DH doesn't want to know about the trip until I've confirmed vacation dates with him, and have booked the trip. Afterwards he doesn't stress out about it until the last week leading up to the trip. At that point I'm so organized I'm laughing at him, as everything's 99% done. As for the kids, they don't want to know about it until the day we are leaving, just as we are heading out the door. My DS9 is a major stress magnet, so if I let him know about the trip he would worry about it the entire time leading up to the trip. By surprising them, it takes alot of the stress out of the trip for him. Besides I like plotting against the kids...keeps me young and out of trouble....mostly!
