WDW Commando Club

Add me please....this will be the first trip for myself and DD without my DH...I am a Comando and proud of it!!

My DH always joked about my planning, but he would always compliment me that our trips were a lot of fun and we managed to do all that we had planned.

This trip will be different as we have 8 ful days for the parks, the most we ever had before was 5. Hope to be able to enjoy EPCOT and AK a lot more than in the past, since the Flower show will be in full force when we are there planning on taking lot of pics at EPCOT.

Have already "planned" out our ADR's, top picks for each day and special stuff we'd like to try.

We will be celebrating my DD 11th bday too while there and I'm surprising her with a day at Discovery Cove and swimming with the dolphins!

Can't wait for October to get here so I will have April hours and can make our ADR's!

Have fun planning everyone!!

Add me please. I'm currently planning our grand gathering for March 2011. 6 kids, 7 adults. I can't wait!:thumbsup2
:welcome: You are member #108. That's a huge group, will you be touring the parks as a group, or are you going seprate ways & meeting up for certain timed events:confused3

:welcome: You are member #109. My DW wants to go one year to the Flower Show, but my DS & I have bad hayfever:scared1: (meds are getting better:cool1:) I think they do a awesome job at putting it all together, tons of hours of work:woohoo: From what I have seen it is awesome :goodvibes (one day I'll get to see it:cool1:)

DC is something I can't wait to do with DS (he's 5 now and is taking swim lessons) Figure when he is 7 he should be ready:goodvibes (he loves all animals and would really love it) You have to fill us in when you get back:yay:

Make sure you get your DD a B-day button (never know what kind of Magic moment it can bring:goodvibes)

I want to touch on this since I've seen a few that are going. I read a thread awhile ago and had to basicly laugh:lmao:

Seems like the biggest con was lack of food:confused3 We got there close to when it opened and I am always aware of my suroundings IMO the truth is that there are alot of greedy people out there that fill their plate like it was a kitchen sink:scared1: (with alot of throw away afterwards) It's not fair to try to pin it on Disney when people are hoarding food (I'm sure they have done research on this and the more you put out the more they take)

Another con was that people were standing up near the rail during the fireworks. IMO the dumbest con ever, hello your under a roof at ground level, your not going to see anything above you, maybe put down the cookie and get up and move to the rail:confused3

Now we will go with the pros (now of course any commando planner will know where I'm coming from on this)

You are there for the view, not the food, IMO if you are a Tink fan this is where you want to be (lands on top of roof) Best spot if you want to catch the Magic:goodvibes)

As far as people standing up, I guess they have never been to a concert or anything exciting, (everyone stands) makes it that much better, but with a tame number of onlookers , don't believe the hype ( you will have a awesome view) but then again as commandos you will be huggin' the rail before anyone even thinks about it:lmao::goodvibes:cool1::woohoo:

I've also done the Pirate Fireworks Cruise if anyone is interested, if anyone has done one of the other cruises offered fill us in on it. Real lived is alot better then a formal ad :goodvibes

Almost forgot if you are a Diabetic let them know when you book it. My DW is and they set her up with a plate with way more then she would ever eat in a sitting.

As some of you know, I will be at WDW Dec 5-11 along with several members of The Dis Dads Club and their families:goodvibes.

We have voted on 5 events to do during the week, 3 are only where & when issues, the other 2 are not that easy:scared1:

The 2 events that we have no clue on how to approch are - 1 - Rope Drop (group gets to open the park) 2 - Group gets to be Grand Marshalls in a parade.

It dosn't matter what day or what park or parade, or even if we could only do one:cool1:

With a Club of Commandos, if any group would know a way to do this it would The Commandos:goodvibes
Some of the Dads that are going are also fellow Commando members :goodvibes Even if we do not get to do either one it would be OK, but on the other hand, if we try and fail it's alot better then not trying at all:woohoo:

If anyone has any idea's:idea: you can post or PM me ( I know for a fact that CM's, Mods. Admin, Pods, & maybe Higher Ups in Dis visit our thread and might want to help, I will keep it :ssst: if wanted, don't want to get anyone in trouble:scared1:)
The one thing we have already tried was GR (dead end).

I want to Thank everyone in advance:thanks:

Ron I have researched both of these and it really seems to just being there early real early and lots of luck. Hopefully some one here can tell us otherwise.

Just back from one week stay at Kidani Village (8/17-24). Turns out the REST of my family are the COMMANDOS.....

My 6 1/2 year old daughter: "Mama, if you're such a Disney fanatic, why do you always want to go back to the room in the evening?"

Me: "Because we've been here for 12 hours straight going non stop in the middle of August?"

If you can't beat 'em, join 'em!

Nice! Can I trade my slacker family for yours? Or maybe you can just adopt me as another commando member of your family? :rotfl:

I guess you underestimated them:confused3 Well now you know for the next visit that everyone is on the same page:goodvibes (any dates in the works:confused3)

Fill us in on what you did on your trip (pros, cons, things that worked, things you would do different, did you change plans or have to add to them etc). I'm sure everyone here would love to hear about it:cool1:

Carl, That has been what I've also found. There has got to be something we are missing:confused3

Hi everybody!

I'm knee deep in resumes, looking for 4 more employees to hire before Wednesday. Can I do it? Heck yeah! I can, simply because of one reason. On Thursday, I have a date to become a princess once again.

I really hate that I have missed so many days on the boards - the DIS is my sanity break. Cards are laminated, clothes are on my bed to be packed after I sort the resumes, and my phone is updated with ADR info.

Before I get back to the grind, I just have to say how wonderful it is to be able to share my love for the World with so many people. My work friends just don't understand. :(

You Go Girl:cool1: what was it a few days ago 14:woohoo: Your in the home stretch now:goodvibes

Four weeks from today, I'll be tickling the under belly of a giant geodesic sphere. :woohoo: This is a solo trip for me. I'm such a good wife ;) I cook and freeze lots of meals and cookies for my DH when I leave him home alone. I made a huge pan of lasagna (12 servings), a dozen mini meatloaves, a batch of sloppy joe mixture. Tomorrow I'll make his favorite cookies to freeze and Monday I'll make a pot of red beans and rice to freeze in portions. This will also benefit me when I get home from my trip. I start back to work 3 days after I get home. :thumbsup2

Your DH is a lucky man, when my Dw went in July she didn't leave me anything premade:scared1: You are also lucky, going on your own possibilites are unlimited, if you don't have a copy of Debbie's Document yet, I highly recommend you PM her to get a copy, you will most likely get the most out of it traveling solo:goodvibes

I was going over some of my notes and placing the ADR's in there proper time slots, this year we are trying a few new places:goodvibes

12/5 - Boatwright Dining Hall 5pm
12/6- Whispering Canyon 5pm
12/7 - Cape May Cafe 9am / Doing Seaworld then DTD T-rex Cafe for dinner
12/8- Olivia's 8:30pm (AK open late, always wanted to do AK at nite)
12/9- Chef Mickey's 5pm
12/10- Le Ceillar 8:20pm (at 180 days was the best I could get:confused3)
12/11- Park Fare Breakfast (Love this breakfast) 8am

I tried to get a big bang for the buck since, this week the FDP is blacked out (had to pay for it:headache:)

What do you think:confused3
