WDW Commando Club

On the Verizon Official app, it is something like 9.99 for 6 months, I think you need to buy again after that. On the WDW maps app I bought it was a one time buy of 2.99. I don't know what the charges are for the IPhone apps.:confused3

Thanks for all the info:cool1: I'm going to have to start scooping them out:rolleyes1 Have you used it in the parks yet, is it reliable:confused3

I just found this thread and so excited by it :worship:. I thought I was completely alone on this.. So many great tips, can't wait to scour all the way through for more pointers

How many apps do they have:confused3 & how do they charge for the apps (monthly, one time, yearly:confused3)

I wonder what the maps ap does? I don't need a map for the parks anymore. Does it do something different besides show you the map?

I have an internet capable phone. I can check my email, facebook, etc. I alos have a membership to touring plans and with that comes access to their LIVE lines info. So I can see (even when I'm not at WDW) what the wait times for any ride and what the return time is for FP. :lovestruc

Is Ridemax pretty much the same:confused3, I still haven't figured out how to text yet:lmao: everytime I try to do something with the phone I mess something up:scared1: Luckily my wife knows how to do all that stuff:rolleyes1

I'm on the fence on if we should go to the Candlelight Processional or not.

My biggest concern is will a 5yr old like it:confused3 or be able to see whats going on:confused3 I really have not looked into it yet, so don't really know what it's all about:confused3

I don't think a 5 yr old could sit thru CP. I could hear and see a few minutes of it by standing at the back on the world showcase promenade. CP is wonderful but I don't want to give up that much time by either standing in line followed by the performance or do the whole high priced table service followed by performance. I'd rather catch snippets and go grab a snack or ride something. There's so much to see during the Christmas season. I love the story tellers in each country. Italy and Norway have the best but try to see them all over a couple of days.

We took my DD3 at the time to the CP and she did sit through most of it with no problems. Actually we got kind of bored with it and ended up leaving a little more than halfway through. Just like pp we enjoy the storytellers and the decorations, we ended up getting coffees and finding a spot for illuminations. But DD3 was very good through it if that helps at all.

I have the droid and was wondering if the app worked during one of the parties. We are attending MNSSHP in a couple of weeks. I started using touring plans a couple of years ago and became completely addicted, I would love to find a way to easily hit the rides and get them out of the way early.

:thumbsup2 I definately am the commando of the group!! This is a great thread. I am an obsessive planner for my disney trips, and lately my coworkers have been getting me to help them plan their trips too.:) I dont mind because planning is half the fun:woohoo: On my last trip, we had breakfast reservations at AK and were the secone ones at the gate. The registers were not even open yet to pay to park! We received a dream parking pass and were able to park right at the entrance. Well later that day we had hopped over to HS and were shopping when the park was closing. There was no one else around. When I walked out the turnstile, security said on the radio"All clear - we are all clear" Now that is the PERFECT disney day to me. First ones there and last to leave!!!:cheer2:

With feedback so far, I think we will be skipping it this year (can always do it on a later trip:goodvibes) My biggest problem in Epcot is the GM Test Track (DS Favorite ride ever:banana:) He was only 4 on the last trip but we ended up on it 13 times:rolleyes1, no matter where we are in Epcot after alittle while he will start up about the test track (got to do alot of backtracking but a happy DS :teacher: a happy trip for all:lmao:)

The storytellers sounds like a great idea, I haven't found too much info on Christmas events yet, since they are being released little by little.
Do the regular shows at each Country still go on (Candy Lady, Belly Dancer, Acrobats, Bands etc) or are they replaced by the storytellers :confused3

Everything still goes on. Definitely check out Steve Soares website a week before you go so you can make plans based on times listed. It's quite the juggle to see and do all.

We are using a wait line web site from touringplans.com it is 10.95 for a year. From what I am hearing it is very accurate. The users can also update the times too. Another option other than the verizion plan.

I'm a commando PLANNER. By planning and learning everything I can before we leave, our Disney vacations have been uber fun! :thumbsup2 My DH is not a Disney lover, so I want to be sure that things run smoothly, and that we don't spend all of our time in lines. He loves that we (DD13 & DD10) have a blast at Disney and is willing to come along for the ride, so the least I can do is make sure we get the biggest bang for our buck! And make ressies at LeCellier, DH's only reason for entering a Disney park! :lmao:

Although DH doesn't always make rope drop with the rest of us commando types, he catches up with us when he finally rolls out of bed. He appreciates all of my planning, but he certainly laughs at me too.

It's nice to have a place here, where we can all swap stories and advice! My big tip, stick with the plan, and pack in all you can, but beware of impending meltdowns, and stop them in their tracks with a bit of spontaneity!

Commando queen checking in :lmao: I am so glad to find out I'm not the only uber planner around :goodvibes

My group includes myself and my two sons - ages 21 and 16. I am the planner in my family although my youngest is a Disney FANatic too so sometimes he helps with the planning.

Most of our trips have been for only a few days so I have felt the need to do as much as we can while we are there. That includes being at rope drop and staying until the parks close :cloud9:

I use Tour Guide Mike, Touringplans, Passporter, Mousesaver, Allearsnet and of course the DIS to plan our trips. I plan everything down to the last detail. And I even make laminated cards with each days schedule to take with me to the parks.

I am currently planning our trip next year - 5 days at Pop Century followed by 4 days on the brand new Disney Dream!!! I am so excited and I just can't hide it  :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :cool1:

:welcome: You are member #112. Next time you go give DH a job, he can be the FP runner, while he goes to get them something might catch his eye that he might think you don't know about or something he might want to try, (even if you know about it act like you don't and make it like he found something great, he might get into it and try to find new things:goodvibes)
