My daughter has been accepted to the WDW college internship program for the extended spring/fall session. She will get to live, work & study at WDW from May 21st thru Jan 3rd of 2004!!!! Wish it were me! ;) Lucky me, she will be there still when DH & I go down there in November!

Does anyone else have a son or daughter going this year? DD is scheduled to be a lifeguard. She is so looking forward to it!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Thanks for the info...I did post on one of those threads but I first posted here since we are campers!:teeth: I wish we could go down more often while she will be there but ...

Can't wait to go!

I made it down about 4 times while she was in the program. I had frequent flyer miles. She enjoyed staying with us at the hotel while we were there.

Your daughter will love the program. Even though my daughter has been there for a year she still hasn't seen everything in the parks. She wants to go back on a vacation. :)

My niece had gotten the Disney bug with us. She went on two of our vacations, to help watch the kids. This past year, she got into the college program and worked from August - January. She absolutely loved it, and made some great friends down there. As a matter of fact, she flew back down yesterday to spend a few days with her new friends.

I believe she would recommend this program to anyone. She is now a recruiter for her college.

Our son was in the program January - May of 1999. He made freinds that i think wold fit in the category of "Life long friends"

After he got his "Duck-torate" degree and came home, he would fly down at every oportunity and he would inform some of the friends he had made. This eased any lodging or transportation concerns. He was welcomed every time.

He would call his manager before hand and added to the work schedule.

He graduated college with a degree in Communications & public relations.

On April 4th, we left Erie and helped him move to Orlando...15 minutes away from WDW...he is now a full tme cast member....AND...still in contact with his friends from when he was in the program...he is finding these friends most helpful as different jobs are being posted in the "Casting Call" boards.

I truly think the Internship program was the best thing that could have happened for him in his school and work life.

That sounds great. My DD really hit it off great with her roommate. She was so happy to find out she will be a lifeguard at Blizzard Beach! She loves the water & Montana doesn't have much weather for swimming! lol

Glad to hear it is going well with your daughter. I am sure she will have a great time. :)
