I will be going to WDW in September looking to stock up on Hidden Mickey pins for my friends and family. Has anyone come back recently and can let me know how they did? Which pins are harder to find than others? Is it hard to complete a set? My niece wants to collect the Chip and Dale food pins, are all of them readily available? I don't want to spend the whole time hunting for pins, Looks like you could buy them as a set on ebay for around $4.00 each!

I would also like to hear about your great finds and where you found them at WDW!

Due to the vast quantity of counterfeit pins on eBay (the majority of which are cast lanyard/Hidden Mickey pins) I would caution you to be VERY careful buying from eBay. The second prong to that problem is that people are buying the fakes and trading them at WDW, where you will find them on cast member lanyards.

You might want to go to PinPics and jot down the info that should be stamped on the back of the pins you are interested in so you will know if the pins are real or fake. If you are just collecting for fun and don't plan to re-trade or resell the pins then just choose pins you like and don't worry about it.

The fakes we bought from eBay have the wrong year stamped on them, or some of them say D SNEY. Some of them just have crummy color quality. Obviously we can't trade those, so we are stuck with them. We are hoping that the pins we bring home next week are not fakes, because the pins we will be trading with are all authentic!

Thank you for your insight. Did you mean to post this on the other thread? I was hoping to start a thread related to what pins are being traded from CM lanyards and where to find the best trades...

I was replying to your post. :)

The reason you can buy pins on eBay for about $4 is because the sellers buy them in enormous unauthorized lots from China.

Finding a great pin on a CM lanyard isn't great if the pin is counterfeit.

Hopefully someone will have some good finds to report. Happy hunting!:thumbsup2
