WDW CLOSING AT 1:00 pm TODAY

:( Aw, poor guests. But hey, where better to be than WDW during a Hurricane on Friday, the 13th!!! I bet those people will NOT forget this!

Oh, and I expect that all the Disser's down there will take some pictures for us, right? ;)

Stay Safe, Stay Dry and have a ball tomorrow hopefully!

Karen

I'm glad they're taking the guests' safety into consideration, but how much would you like to bet.... someone is going to complain and demand an upgrade/free trip/reimbursment.

I'm sure there will be a lot of hurricane parties at the resorts today. Stay safe everyone!

I'll take that bet....

there's one in every bunch!

Oh, wow... Good for them for taking precautions.

Those poor vacationers, though.

Not saying at all that Disney can help the weather, but hopefully this early closing will be well-publicized at the parks & resorts. I would be a bit upset to use my park hopper only to find I had to leave early and that day is now used. Of course those with AP's or uph's are a different matter.

Should be a big theatre day turn out though. What opens today?

Stay safe everyone!

I'm sure I could still find ways to amuse myself in WDW even if the parks were closed!

Will Downtown be open, or is everything shutting down?

If I were there, I'd (finding a way to do it safely of course) go outside and take some pictures. It's definately an unusual chance to get some once in a lifetime weather shots.

I bet WDW will bus in Characters to the resorts...have movie/story times in lobbies..I'm sure they'll make the most of it.

kinda of like 'rainy day activities' at camp. hehehe

When we were there during Hurricane Erin, even though the parks were closed, everything in the Poly continued as normal. We had dinner at Tangora Terrace and hung out at the Tambu lounge. There was a lot of activity in the GCH. We actually had a nice, and very memorable night.
You have to make the most of it, but Im sure some people will still complain.

Disney4us, I know when it happened to us we got a notice slipped under our door at the Poly telling us of the early closures and it also had some helpful hints of what precautions to take during the hurricane.

No, most everything will be closed. All WDW resorts pools are outdoors. Could you imagine letting a guest swim in 50-60 mph wind???

It will most definetly be well known about the early closing.

I highly doubt any theaters will be open in this area today.

They'd at least have to provide surfboards. :p :p

If we decided to take a trip to WDW anytime during Hurricane season, I would think it would be our responsibility to accept the fact that anything could happen, including early closing. I know the Imagineers can simulate all kinds of weather in their attractions, but controlling a Hurricane is a bit too much to ask!

I just heard this on the weather channel. They said Animal Kingdom, water parks and downtown disney closed all day.
