WDW Classic 'Toons Question

Can anyone comment as to whether or not Disney brought back the channel with all classic Disney cartoons? When we were at POP in Sept 08, the channel no longer existed. We asked about it and they said that one of the Disney channels that had the current shows had certain hours of the day they played the classics. They also said that lots of guests were asking for the channel to be brought back.

We loved the classic channel, it was one of our favorite 'resort attractions'.

I hope they bring it back if they haven't already.

It was there when I was at the YC in December. It seems like Pop gets the most complaints about not being able to see it. Maybe the cable system is wired different there than at the other resorts?

I can also confirm it at the WL, BC and BCV in December. It was on Channel 96, I think.

Last month it was working at the Contemporary and it was channel 96.

It worked on Channel 96 this Month at ASMo and in September at CSR.

You will, unfortunately, discover after a day or two that they don't show all the classic cartoons. It looked like there were less than 20 that were played over and over (and over) again.

Darn, I wish I had this info 4 weeks ago. We looked for the channel everywhere in December and even asked the CMs at the GF and Poly. They said it wasn't available either. This is my kids favorite channel. Going to save this thread for our next trip!

That cartoon channel 96 was still active at ASMusic in Nov/Dec, and we also saw it running in the lobby sitting area of WL. Hope it returns to Pop before we go this year!

The channel was still at the Poly as of our stay 12/28/08 - 1/3/09. I wouldn't have even known the channel number if someone hadn't changed the channel on the TV in the Poly Concierge lounge. I had to remember this jingle for the channel: "Channel 96 for your Classic Disney Toon fix"

Ahhh, watching such classics as Steamboat Willie and Working for Peanuts never gets old.

Channel 96 definitely wasn't there in our room at Beach Club back in October. I tried manually and by clicking through the channels, and nothing.

I love that channel - I think I only seen it at AKL. Never seen it at my rooms at POP, Poly, or WL. My family doesn't have much luck with it, it seems!

Try to enter the number 96 manually, you should find the channel at all the Disney resorts, plus it plays on the televisions in the lobbies.
