WDW Chip n Dale Marathon Relay Medal

Here is the new medal. Looks cool

I'm a little surprised it is the same medal for both legs, at least from a marketing perspective. Having a different medal for both legs would almost guarantee a lot of runners would run the race twice to get both medals.

The Niagara International has a cool design that fits together. I could see the Disney one working the same way with the split being where the acorn is. Chip would be centered in the circle with his hand sticking out the right holding half of the acorn for the first leg. Dale would be centered in the the circle with his hand sticking back to the left grabbing the other half of the acorn for the second leg.

I do think it is a cool medal.

I so want this medal. I just don't have anyone to run the other leg with me. DH will be doing his 2nd half marathon with me the day before, so I know he is not up for a back to back yet.

Does anyone have any insight to how the relay will work? If you do the 2nd leg, will Disney transport you from Epcot to the exchange area? Will you have to be at Epcot earlier than 5 a.m.? Will you have to sit in an open area while you're waiting for your partner (which could be 2-3 hours)? Thanks for any info!!

If it is like the relay in October both runners will go to the start and the 2nd runner will be transported to the exchange area, both will have to be at the start at the same time, and you will be waiting in the open for your partner.

As the actual race gets closer this will get confirmed or corrected but this is how they handle the Relay for Wine & Dine weekend.

I also saw the medal at the expo on Friday. It is really cute in person and I am hoping to find a relay partner. A friend's daughter lives in Orlando and I have sent her an email.....fingers crossed!

I'll work through it! I cant feel it when I run/walk so I can make it Just have to be careful in training now so I dont mess it up more by then! Did you happen to get a picture of the Donald 1/2 medal? I've only seen drawings, not the actual medal!

Yup. Totally missed the Wine & Dine Medal and the Halloween 5K Medallion, but I got the Chip & Dale and the 15th Anniversary Donald.

And in two weeks and four days you can see and touch it in person at the Expo!!!

It looks so awsome, I am such a sucker for medals! All my friends make fun of me because I register for races based on the medals but I want fun bling to show off my achievements!
