WDW Bakeries

Last year when we went to the world we never really tried out the bakeries, where are the best bakeries that we just have to try?

I have to confess that from experience I can't say because I try to avoid those - I just love that stuff too much! However, from what I have read on here I think one of the best is the one on Main Street, USA, MK.

The Kringla Bakery in Norway is pretty good (school bread is a must try) and the Boulangierie in France has some fantastic desserts.

All 3 mentioned above are great! One other I will add is Starring Rolls Bakery in Hollywood Studios.

The Boulangierie in France has the BEST pastries. It's not good when we stay at BWV or BCV because my DH wants to go to Epcot constantly to get fresh pastries!

Cinnamon rolls at Main St. Bakery

I usually stay at the Boardwalk and I don't like that bakery.
I seem to always get cakes that are still partially frozen-like I could separate each cake layer and the filling comes up in a strip.
I'll admit to not having gotten anything there in a while because it was always like that, so I'll be willing to give it another try when we're there in October-what's good there?

We agree! We're staying at the Dolphin in Oct. & will probably make a trip to Boulangerie Patisserie midday or late evening every day. More accurately, my DH will probably be making that trip for me on a daily basis.

Oh wow! I didn't even think of this advantage (disadvantage?) to staying at the Beach Club (which is where we're hoping to stay on our next trip).

My personal favorite is Norway.

The best cc cookies on property though are at the little Sleepy Hollow place near the castle. Funnel cakes, yuck...but cc cookies...mmm! better than Main St.'s

I also like the chocolate covered rice crispy treats on Main Street. The Confectionary place is one of few places that has fresh ones. Most others are farmed out to a non-WDW bakery.

At HS, there is Starring Rolls, but also fresh confections at the Villain Store..just past the ride time board (not really a bakery, per say).

France has some pretty good treats, but I think Norway is better. I really like the no-sugar mousse. you'd never know it was no sugar! Germany's Sommerfest QS has some killer chocolate cake if you like the German style Black Forest cake.

Otherwise , I kind of think the bakery offerings at the resorts are mostly about the same. I can't think of anything at CSR that was outstanding, but the display is impressive, and they have quite a selection of offerings.

The Goofy's Confections at DTD has those chocolate- dipped items that look pretty good (not really a bakery though). We've done the BWK bakery many times, as long as the line is not too long. Otherwise we'll just skip it and head over to the food court offering at Sunshine seasons. I like that you can get fresh fruit with your pastries there...sort of balances things out.

I defo want to try school bread looks really yummy.

Me and DB will be dining at GF twice, originally I was going to order the slipper dessert when we had dinner at GF Cafe, but now we are dining twice I am thinking the Castle Cake also, just not sure which order to do them in. Our second restaurant at GF will be the Garden Tea.

Will defo try out the france patisserie and main street bakery. Although I do like the sound of Black Forest in Germany

I'm very excited about the elephant ears!! I love them and have even gone as far as to try and make them at home-not nearly as good.

Hi All,
I'm trying to convince my family to give up our 7:30am Kona breakfast ressies as I'm worried it will be tough to be at MK prior to rope drop.
I thought I could make the blow a little less by saying that one of our party can stop at the MK Bakery on the way in and buy some breakfast items to share.
What items do you suggest...both sweet and savory are options.

FRANCE FRANCE FRANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have some of the best pasteries and an awsome ham and cheese croissant that my DH dreams of.....
