WDW Annual Passes will go on sale on September 8th

I was pleasantly surprised, the renewal for the Platinum passes was only a moderate increase this year. Went from $1015 last year per ticket to $1104 this year. I did see no more photo pass inclusion, but I can live with that.

Current Platinum AP holder here. I don't see the change as being a significant impact to me. The dropping of the photo pass isn't a huge deal for us as we almost never bothered with it. I suppose if I really wanted it I could just get it on my AP and not for DW's AP.

We have a trip planned the week of September 20th for the lower crowds. Does anyone think that the renewed sales of annual passes will impact crowd levels significantly still for September? Sorry if that is a newbie question.

No, I seriously doubt it would have any impact. Those that already have AP's (mostly locals) will be there anyway. Those that don't have AP's won't buy until time for their trip.

It wasn't as bad as I anticipated. It's not cheap by any means LOL but it never was. I'm thinking about getting it. I'm going 9/7 - 9/14 and I have a 3 day ticket purchased ... considering exchanging for an AP. I'm not 100% sure ... thinking through it and running the numbers. I like that the AP allows park hopping and free parking. And no blockouts. And 20% off merch and typically there are AP discounts on rooms. Just have to make sure I will come enough to make it worth my while...

Why not? We are sometimes led to believe that there are hordes of well-off Floridians waiting to jump at the bit the minute the mouse and the pandemic rules let them. I’m going next week, and I’m worried about our MK afternoon on the 10th and the hordes of new APs who made their first reservation as soon as they caught a whiff of the weekend

I'm actually surprised a thread about this hasn't started already (unless I overlooked it). But, the Disney Parks Blog announced that Annual Passes will be going on sale on September 8th? What's everyone's thoughts about it?

This was one of the most discussed items I have ever seen on disboards in news & attractions categories , I think there is more people upset than excited. For us we were looking forward to them bringing them back and excited untill we saw the price jump. Now we are considering other alternatives that I thought I was way out on.
For instance the universal passes I'm looking at are half the price. I think i may stick to my 4 day fix for $200

Does anyone know if we will be able to purchase our AP's online or if we will have to call? Also, does your AP officially "activate" the day you purchase it or the first day you visit the parks after purchase?

TIA!

I heard you have to purchase online only. In the past you had to activate your annual pass after buying it.

Here's the problem, though, and I didn't hear the team mention this on the show.

A few years ago, they really hiked the price of an AP by a couple hundred dollars and justified the huge increase by including photo pass. Not they're pulling that back out and keeping the higher price. It's classic bait and switch.

I like photo pass. I'm also fine not having photo pass. But if you aren't going to give it to me, stop charging me for it.

We did not use the photo pass much , just cause if you go all the time you dont need a million pics of you on the same ride..
I figure next is a parking pass charge like they do at other parks, then they can say buy by October and get free Parking lol.

I do a capture your moment session it’s totally worth it yearly to see your family grow

I’ll probably order the Photo pass on my AP. Yet another some thing that was free and now they are charging for.

I’m glad they essentially rolled the Weekday Select FL AP over into the Pixie Dust Pass. It needs to be that inexpensive for us to feel it’s worth it. It’s basically an excuse to be outside walking all day. We don’t want to fight crowds and we don’t need our picture taken.
