HI everyone! I am new to the DIS and have been a fan for years, I was wondering if there is a thread/topic specifically designated for single parents that travel to WDW (and other places as well.)?? I did it last year with my five year and learned alot in the process. I would love to share my tips and experiences as well as gain more.

To my knowledge, there is no such thread on the Tips Board. However, here is a great opportunity to start one! Who has some good tips for single parents taking their child(ren) to WDW?

I thought I saw one somewhere, but but could not find it when I was looking for it. Anyhow....My best tip learned, take advantage of the child activity centers! For $11/hour (which includes a kids meal) you can get peace of mind. When I planned my last trip everyone thought I was totally obsessed, but my planning really paid off.

Additional Tips: get your button from guest services at the parks or a DVC station (like we did) and use a sharpie to write your phone number on the back. I was so proud of my daughter showing everyone where mommy's cell ph # was!

Gotta have leverage! Luckily daughter is small enough that she believes that Santa exists and he does watch her. On our christmas trip, he left notes every morning telling her whaty she was doing that day and reminders if she was not good she would have time out with the Grinch. He also told her to be a good listener, stay close to mommy and how important it was to ride in her rider (stroller) bc mommy could not carry her. ( I plan to the same next trip, but from Ariel.)
