WDW a Founding Sponsor for Orlando City SC

I know most won't care about this since it's sports/soccer related but as a Disney fan and Orlando City fan I'm very happy/interested/apprehensive in what will become of this relationship. Actually I'm surprised this announcement didn't come sooner becuase the partenership makes sense given that OCSC has one of the biggest Brazillian futbol players of all time and we know the Brazillians love Disney. I'm curious how far the sponorship goes since it sounds like WDW, DCL, and ABD wants to be really involved with the team and if we'll see any cross-branding with merch for sell or other special promotions.

It probably means they got stadium signage, TV Broadcast commercial time (especially in South America, not so much on Domestic MLS broadcasts) and maybe where fans get a discount off multi-day tickets with a game ticket or something like that. I don't think this will mean we will see Mickey be the Mascot of Orlando City or something silly like that. I hope when I get down there next year in May I can spend a day to see them play DC united (my home are team).

Yeah...that's going to be a fun game...the Galaxy looked in top form last night aganist Chicago

The artilce says they will have a presence at game so yeah I'm assuming singage and video on the screen but I'm doubting highly about any type of discount on tickets (2 years ago Legoland was a sponsor and offered free/discounted tickets but of course that's a totally differently ran park)...I'm also doubting any charcters will be making an apperance except for really special occasions, definetly not mascot level...next year will be great becuase we will be in our brand new stadium

DC united

Just curious what clubs did DC unite lol incase your wondering about that generally when a football or soccer team is called united it means several local teams were united. Just incase you ever hear any odd TFC fan chants about that that's what they mean.

just to update: there was plenty of WDW signage around the stadium/pitch and there was a short Goofy playing soccer commercial before the game that I think was pushing the current FL resident deal but I honestly missed half of it...outside the stadium they had a little truck with a big video screen on the side where you could play a matching game for some stickers, there was a coach and referee streetmosphere character, and a DJ playing music (top 40 type stuff)

Did anyone watch their opening match? I am so excited about the upcoming season for them!
