WDW 3/2-3/9 2007 The World With An ONLY Child!!!! COMPLETED!!! With Pics!!!

We could have stayed 2 more nights. My brother & his son will be driving home. They moved to Florida 2 years ago about 7 hours from Disney & my friends are staying at OKW until Sunday. We could have moved into an efficiency on Friday but didnt think about it until we already made our airline reservations. We already changed our plane reservations since we were originally supposed to go to Miami Beach for the weekend in Feb & cancelled to go to Disney instead. My DH has been wanting to go to Disney for a whole week for quite sometime because for the past few years we have only been there for a day or 2 either after or before a cruise & thought this would be a perfect excuse since my nephew will be 9 in June & hasnt been to Disney since he was 2. We went on Magic for the 10 night xmas cruise & stayed 1night at OKW before the cruise but didnt go into the park. We just went dowtown to Ghirardelli for dinner..hot fudge sundae for me & banana split for dh, it's a tradition.

I can't believe that I'm getting so excited & looking at your pics & reading your report has really put me more in the mood.:hourglass :dance3:

I forgot...having a senior moment I guess...LOL anyway, the Flower Power concerts are at the amphitheatre in Epcot near the American Pavillion. They have them every year during the Flower show. They have a bunch of performers from the 60's for us flower children like the Grass Roots,Davey Jones, Petula Clark, Hermans Hermits,:hippie: :rolleyes1 :hippie: The Tokens....any of them ring a bell? Ask your parents I'm sure they heard of them

Maybe you can go to POFQ next trip!

Think about it. You won't regret it!

I wasn't there for the Flower Show this year. Anyway, you are speaking to the #2 Moody Blues Fan in the world. Next to my dad. He was thier BIGGEST fan when he was alive. I've been to every single Moody Blues concert since I was about 10 years old. I love music from the Hippie Era!:hippie:

I will have to check that out sometime!:)

OK, I'm starting to get a little sad here because we have now come to ...

The last full day at WDW!!:guilty:

Of course, we go back to my favorite place---MK!!

We arrive at MK later than I would have liked--around 10:30 a.m.

We head up Main Street USA. Main Street is my favorite part of the park. I just love strolling down that street and staring up at that castle. Of course on this day, I was starting to get a little upset because I knew it would be the last time I would see it this trip.

I also like going in the shops and just browsing. I could do this all day. If I see something that I'd like to buy and I can actually afford it, all the better.

DS had some Disney Dollars left over (I know it's hard to believe with that outrageous purchase of "the jersey of the player that will remain nameless") and he wants to go in the Confectionary. I told him we'd stop in on the way(sniff!) out of the park.

We head over to Frontierland. We had to ride BTMRR and Splash Mountain.

We grabbed Fastpasses for BTMRR because there is about a half-hour wait.

Went next door to Splash Mountain. Walked on the ride!!!!

No Fastpasses, eithier. There must have been a guardian angel following us around on this trip. I don't know!

After Brer Rabbit found his Laughin' Place, we head to BTMRR.

I just LOVE those Fastpasses, don't you? The stand-by line wait was about 40 minutes. WE breeze right past everybody. I felt a little bit guilty as I was floating by. It was hot out again this day as well.

I get over the guilt real quick.:rolleyes1

We were heading out of Frontierland and we notice that Country Bear Jamboree was starting in about 5 minutes. We go in.

I hadn't been here since my first trip in 1995. Now I remember why.

Very outdated show. It needs to be spruced up a bit.

Don't get mad at me, it's just my opinion. I got us out of the heat, though.

As we are exiting CBJ, There was a street show going on with Woody from Toy Story and some cowboys and cowgirls. They were dancing around and I could feel my feet a'tappin' to the music. YEEHAA!!

You KNOW what DS and DH did, don't you?:sad2:

Man, they were darn lucky that I didn't get in the middle of that show and do an old-fashioned ho-down!!!!

On to Adventureland!!

We rode on POTC and Jungle Cruise.

POTC was fun, as always. I really enjoyed the addition of Jack Sparrow to the attraction. That figure looks JUST like Johnny Depp!!!!

Jungle Cruise was fun, also. The tour guide was hysterical!! I could see my brother working on that attraction. DH had the same thought. Great minds think alike, I guess!!!

Anyway, DS wanted to ride Buzz Lightyear again, so off to Tommorowland we go!

This time maybe it was a 5 minute wait, if that! It's now after 12:30, where is everybody?

Can I say that Buzz is quickly becoming one of my favorites at WDW. DS said it was okay if his father and me go on together and he would go by himself because we really didn't do much together on the trip so far.

Ain't he the sweetest?

DH and I share a spaceship (or whatever it's supposed to be) and I totally messed with him. He's getting all serious about shooting at the "Z" targets, and I am pushing the lever to make the spaceship spin around. And around. And around. I was spinning and laughing so hard I thought I was gonna throw up!!!:lmao:

He was so mad at me by the end of that ride, I thought he was gonna strangle me!!!!:rotfl2:

After it was apparent that DH was not going to be Mr. Formerly-Laid-Back-Super-Commando, we head to TTA.

Now I've never been on this before on any of my trips to DW, and I loved it. So fun and relaxing! DS actually rode this several times. The view is nice from that ride as well.

We were done with Tommorwland this trip. (Get out the hankies, everyone!)

Now it was time to back-track to Liberty Square to the Hall of Presidents.

DS did not want to do this. (It was educational. He didn't want to see or do anything educational on his vacation.)

I like this exhibit and I told him if he wrote about this in his journal, he would score major points with his teacher.

That won him over. DS actually enjoyed the Hall of Presidents. He commented that all the presidents looked very life-like. I agreed with him.

We head over to Tommorowland Indy Speedway. We rode this during EMH the other night.

I do not drive. I sat in the passanger seat with DS on Monday evening. This is the one phobia I have. I'm not afraid of heights, the dark, or anything like that. But, put me behind the wheel of a car, I actually have a panic attack. I don't know why this happens to me--I've never been in a major car accident in my life (knock on wood!) and I'm fine as a passenger in a car, but do NOT ask me to drive one!!!!

Well, today was our last full day, and DH forced me to get on this ride IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT!!! He informed me that the cars rode on tracks (which I already knew) but do you think that made any difference to me? No, sir.

I told DH I would do it, but he had to sit in the car with me.

Am I a baby or what!!!!:guilty:

I did fine. Relax.:rolleyes1

Now we were getting hungry, so we went to Casey's Corner for some hot dogs. They were really good.

After we ate, we went to the Confectionary and DS used up his Disney Dollars to buy some bagged treats to take back to Philly.

We saw the Family Fun Day Parade on our way out of MK. (Now I'm really starting to get upset. I know I'm a babbling fool!)

DS, DH and I took the bus back to POFQ really depressed because this way this end of our vacation.

Or was it?:rolleyes1

Next Up: The Final Chapter; Some More Surprises Await!!!!

I've enjoyed your report! Looking forward to the finale!

I can see myself in lots of the things you say--I can tend to have some immature temper tantrums myself:guilty: We, too, are a family of three, with one DS8, and so I wonder what we'll be like when we hit the pre-teen years. Right now we love being together, and I hope that holds out all the way thru!

So glad your trip was magical for you:wizard:

Thanks for reading, BurleyGirl!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that acts like that!!!

It was a wonderful trip, can't wait until next year!!:dance3:

Dear God, please tell me it was NOT a STINKIN COWBOYS OR STINKIN GIANTS JERSEY:scared1:

jcc:

Do you think I would allow that more than once on the trip!!!!:rotfl2:

I'll be posting my finale at some point tonight!!

Busy with T.J.'s doctor appointments!!

See ya later!!

Well, here it is...The Final Chapter.

We were back at POFQ packing up all the clothes and souviners to go home.

We just stayed in the hotel room that night because I did not want to be dragging aroung the next morning when we had to check out.

The next morning, we had our last order of benigets of the trip!!

And the COFFEE!!!!:lmao:

We checked out of the POFQ at around 11:00. I will recommend this resort to anyone I know. I will never stay off Disney property again. The CMs, the atmosphere, the magic was absolutely wonderful. I was tearing up as I walked away from the counter. Pretty soon it we were going Back To Reality.

Our flight was not scheduled to depart from MCO until 8 p.m. so we had basically the whole day to kill.

We decide to go back to MGM---for the 4th time!!!!

The reason we went back there was because DS wanted to see the Lights, Motor, Action Stunt Show. We didn't get a chance to see it the other 3 times we were there that week.

Hard to believe, I know!!!:rotfl2:

When we got to the park, you know where DS wanted to go--RNRC!! (3rd time!)

The show was very entertaining and DS really enjoyed it.

Uh, you know me with cars!?!?!?!:sad2:

By this time, after the wait for the RNRC and the stunt show, it was about 3:00. The DME bus was going to pick us up at 5:00, so it was time to head back to POFQ to wait for the bus.

Whn we got back to POFQ, we retrieved our luggage from storage and sat on the bench sulking!!!!!

The DME bus came right on time and we very, very reluctantly get on it!!

We had to push DS on it!!!:rotfl:

Pathetic, aren't we?

While we were on the bus, T.J. met a couple girls his age from Williamstown, NJ and they have Nintendo DS games like he does. They were sending messages to each other and these girls were flirting with my baby--RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME!!!

I pretended to ignore it, but it was hard for me not to. DH told me to leave him alone!!! LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!! He actually got this girls phone number and e-mail address!!!!! I guess I don't want him to grow up that much yet!!!

We get to the airport, and we checked our luggage and we had to get our boarding passes at the Air Tran counter. When they printed out the passes, they said "seats TBA" on them. I didn't catch this until we almost got to our gate. As we were approaching the gate, we hear our name (mis-pronounced)
on the loud-speaker.

Of course, Miss Worst-Case-Scenario Herself, I'm thinking we are going to get bumped off the flight because it was too full.

We got bumped all right!

Right up to FIRST CLASS!!!!!

WOOO-HOOOO!!!!:woohoo:

The lady at the counter said that coach was indeed over-booked and they picked people to be upgraded to first-class and did we mind.

DID WE MIND???? ARE YOU CRAZY LADY!!!!!

We immediately start calling everyone we know before the plane takes off.

Apparently, this little surprise happened to a few people because they had the same idea we did about calling people to tell them they were one of THE CHOSEN to fly to Philly in style!!!!

This was the perfect ending to an (almost) perfect trip!!!!

The flight attendants treated DH like a KING!!! We kept looking at each other and laughing because we could NOT believe what was happening to us. One male flight attendant kept gong over to hime and shaking his hand and gave him all kinds of snacks and having little conversations with him. It was like HE was the ONLY passenger!!!!

As you can probably imagine, DH took full advantage of this!!

He ordered about 5 Jack Daniels and Coke. Luckily, my mom was picking us up at the airport!!!

Guess what, DS had NO problems on the flight home. I GUESS NOT!!

He had about 5 sodas and XM sattelite radio on the flight home.

Also, the flight landed in Philly about 20 minutes earlier than expected.

Well, that's it. I would like to thank everyone who took an interest in my little trippie. It was fun re-living the trip for you guys!

Just think--only a little over a year until our next trip!!!!!:dance3:

Thank you again!

Mary Beth Luecke

Thanks for sharing your TR.:thumbsup2 I would say that was a pretty perfect ending to your trip to fly first class!:woohoo:
I know it is always a sad day when your trip ends.:guilty:But, you have many wonderful memories and if you're like most folks( yes I'm from the south) you start planning and figuring out when you can go again!

rene'

Thank you Rene'!!

You better believe I'm planning the next WDW trip.

As you can see by my sig, I'm going on a Land/Sea trip next May.

I can't wait for that!!!:woohoo:

I recieved my DCL DVD and planner in the mail the other day.

Philly Girl,

You're gonna love love love    the land & sea. Which are you doing & in what order? We have done 3 day, 4day, 7day eastern, 7 day western & just did the 10day xmas 12/07..:cloud9:

I am doing 3 nights at POFQ from May 8-11th and then the Wonder from the 11-15th.

This is a present from my husband for our 15th wedding anniversary.

It is also Mother's Day when we set sail on the 11th.

This is the first double-dip cruise to CC, also.

I can't wait!!!!!:woohoo:

Thanks, always!!!

BTW, how was the Xmas cruise, I've always wanted to do WDW at Christmas time, but a cruise sounds like a lot of fun at that time of year.
