Back again, did you notice the ticker?
5 days baybee!!!!!!!!! Can you hear me shrieking from over there?
Anyway, the first setback of the holiday plan has hit already, and we're not even there yet!
Remember I told you about our unsuccessful tour of Florida searching for ice skates?
Also remember of my desire to purchase 'The Closer' Tote Bag?
Well the evil shopping pixies have struck again!
I should maybe let you know that I have no luck whatsoever in shopping. Being a sensible, thrifty Scot I tend to consider my purchases, before purchasing. However, this tactic ineveitably means that my shopping karma kicks in and by the time I've decided to purchase, the said item is suddenly no longer available in my size (ever again), permanently out of stock or suddenly discontinued forever.
DH says I should just buy things when I see them, and I have tried to be an impulse shopper, but, as a Scot, I'm just genetically unable to do that.
And even when I try to Impulse shop it doesn't work...
Example 1. This year I needed a new swimsuit, and I fancied an all in one. I've finally accepted that the skin on my stomach is never magically going to de-wrinkle and de-stretch mark itself, and I'm getting kind of fed up of never bending over while wearing a two-piece (my stomach looks OK when I'm standing upright, but the minute I bend over it transforms into an 80 year olds). So when the swimsuits came out in the beginning of March I started looking and I saw one in M&S. After a couple of weeks of looking (it was March - plenty of time) I decided it was the one, it wasn't normally the style or colour I choose but I kept coming back to it.
So, I duly went into to purchase said swimsuit only to find it was gone!!!!!
When I asked the saleswoman said - "oh, yes, it's in our sale rack!!!!" Over I run - none left!!
Who puts a swimsuit in a sale 3 weeks after it comes out????
Discontinued - never seen again!
Example 2: Last year we had an invite to a wedding and I saw a really nice dress in Monsoon - again, none in my size!

The salswoman said if I took out a store card I could order the dress and it would be delivered to the house as soon as it came in stock. So, I did, and waited. 5 weeks later the bill came in and I was charged for the dress - which I didn't have! Phoned the store, and it had been sent out weeks ago. Had to drive up to Glasgow to get another dress (now paid for twice!

), and collect the paperwork to start the lost mail procedure with Royal Mail, which I duly did. They said someone had signed for it but couldn't find the signature
I was starting to doubt myself...had I received the package and forgot??? I know my memories not what it used to be, but still.....
Anyway, Royal mail were starting the procedure to reimburse me and then 4 weeks later I got a phonecall from the store in Glasgow saying my dress had been returned and did I still want it??????

It had been sitting in the sorting office in Prestwick all that time - they'd never tried to deliver it!!!!
Anyway, it was last year, and I've worked through my anger...happy place....happy place....
So, back to 'The Closer' Tote Bag.
Went online at the weekend, onto QVC, all ready to order...guess what?
ON WAITLIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it came back in stock within the next 45 days did I still want it posted????
Shopping Pixies SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sometimes I despair....
But still.....
5 DAYS!!!!!!!
