WDW 2008, just us and the weans - NOW WITH PICS!!!

I'd say try every week or so, and even the morning of at the castle itself. There will be a lot of UK guests who don't end up getting to go with flight prices going through the roof over there.

:thumbsup2 for your new itinerary. Hope you still manage to get an ADR for CRT (or any others you still wanted) :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: , but it sounds like you have some great ADRs - well done on getting them booked again and reworking your plans so quickly. You will have a brilliant time. :dance3:

Could the ADR dept put you on a waiting list for CRT and email you if a cancellation came up? Maybe they can't do that though. :confused3

New schedule looks great!

As far as CRT goes remember there is the 48 hour CXL window so that week a few spots may possibly open up as people cxl their vacations. Its a possibility. :pixiedust: Here is some pixiedust that it will happen for you!

How did Grumpy do the mousekeeping envelopes? I've been thinking about doing some. Post pictures!!!!

Looks like a great plan. Who knows we might see you. Just found out my DH will be in DC for the month of October so I figure me and my boy will head to WDW. What else do we have to do?
Hi Melissa, With WDW so close, how can you not go! I'd be a permanent feature by now!

Your plans look great! I'm so glad this trip is going to happen for you!

Hi Bev,
Thanks, Since I've done the ADRs I really feel like it's definately happening again!

Hi Alysa, Mary-Ellen and Shawna,
I'm still not sure about trying for CRT again, we've got Princess dining with 1900 PF and Akershus, plus CRT uses 2 TS credits. My latest thought is changing the 1900 PF breakfast to breakfast at the Poly with Lilo and Stitch, that means we get to visit every deluxe for a nosy ;) I'll try to see if I could change them. Was going to phone POP this weekend with a room location request, how far in advance should you do this?

Shawna, will try and take some photos but here's the link to the web page
. You go onto downloads for your trip.

DH said to me yesterday to get rid of the old trip itinery that I'd done as he didn't want to be reminded of what might have been :sad2:
First thing he said to me this morning when he woke up? What park are we going to today! :confused3 :rolleyes1
Typical!
bye for now,
Di x

Latest update!
Phoned Disney Dining to try and get a breakfast ADR at the Poly with Lilo and Stitch, but no luck :sad1: though she did say to keep trying.
We've pretty much decided to give up on CRT for just now, but that may change again!
Was checking the WDW site and realised that Typhoon Lagoon will be closed whilst we are there :headache: , we'll still get to go to Blizzard Beach, so that's OK. I think we'll probably go to Epcot in the afternoon since we have an ADR there for dinner. DH wants to try and get his camera and the kids Nintendos that day, so we'll more than likely get lost driving about trying to find the Wal-Mart. :rolleyes1 I have no sense of direction at the best of times, even in my own town.
I do a lot of driving at work, and I get lost...a lot! :rolleyes1

I do agree that you should get rid of the old itinerary and then not look back - You are set to do great things! :goodvibes

I'm sorry to hear that Typhoon Lagoon will not be open, but I do think Blizzard Beach is also alot of fun.. :beach:

And I hope you get some towel animals as well - those envelopes seemed to do the trick for us! Here's some pixie dust that they will work for you too! pixiedust: pixiedust:

Sorry to hear Typhoon Lagoon will be closed while you are there. It is our favorite.

I can't imagine driving in a foreign country, we have issues in our own.

I have 14 little Mousekeeping envelopes all ready, so fingers crossed for towel animals!

We like BB a lot, and we'll still get to go there, so all good! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 It gives us some more time in the parks, as long as we don't get too lost!

Hi Melissa,
At least BB is still open, so not too bad.
I am a bit anxious about the driving - we had a SatNav last trip. We never used it onsite last time, but did use it off. DH seems fairly chilled about it though, I'll try and get some good directions before we go.
I just have no sense of direction at all, but as long as I have directions (very specific directions) I'm OK. DH just drives about assuming he'll get there if he points the car in the vague direction of his destination. I assume he uses The Force.

Look your new ticker has already gone down. It will be under that one month mark before you know it. This was just a slight bump in the road. I'm glad to see the new planning is in full force.

Hi Shawna,
I know, it won't be too long to go now. It's just a complete bummer having your ticker say 3 days, and then it goes back up to over a month! :headache:

Phoned POP yesterday to ask about room requests and the CM said to phone back a week before, then said 'Goodbye and have a Magical Day'.
I came off the phone with a big grin on my face. pixiedust: In the US everyone seems really polite, even if they probably don't mean it, I think they should start saying that over here in the UK! It would brighten everyone's day. :)
Also checked with the Car Care Centre in WDW, they close at 6.30pm, so we won't be able to pick the car up the day we arrive as DH was hoping. We'll just grab a quick breakfast and then get it before we head to MK on the Saturday.
Also booked the airport car park at Gatwick yesterday, the directions seem pretty clear on how to get there.
As you've probably noticed - I worry a lot about directions. :rolleyes1 But as a directionally impaired member of society I do get slightly worried about DHs use of The Force to guide him when driving.
"WDW is the size of Manchester Diane, we're not going to lose it".

I wish that were true about everyone being polite here in the US. Guess I need to travel more so I can compare. It is nice when you call WDW and they are really nice. I just love it!

I am the same way with directions. We have GPS, but I still pull it up on the internet and print out directions, or at least look to see where I am going. Funny thing is, as many times as I have driven to WDW now, only twice have I left the same way I came. Can't figure out how that happens. I'll end up 2 miles further on the Interstate.:confused3

I'm so sorry about your trip being pstponed.:sad2: I worry about something happening and having to cancel a trip. So far everything is a go for our upcoming trips.:woohoo: I'm glad that they refunded your money for the MNSSHP tickets. pixiedust: pixiedust: that everything comes together for this upcoming trip.

Hi Melissa,
I have to say people in the US seem to pretend to be more polite, they say 'Have a nice day', it sounds polite though I'm sure they probably don't mean it half the time!
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has that happen to them when driving!

Hi there,
Thanks for coming over!!
Sorry, I've been a bad DISer and not replied sooner!
Glad you're enjoying it so far, not much more happening here at the moment, will post when I have something exciting to discuss.

OK, not really an update as such, but DH showed me his 'booklet' he has been making.
It's only slightly shorter than 'War and Peace'.

24 pages.
Details of ideal picture spots in all the parks, parade/show times, character meets, how to shoot fireworks. Next he is going to add snack selections in the parks and CS places to eat (my suggestion).
Now I know what he does at work all day! :rolleyes1
He is also obsessed with NBC and was a bit peeved that we would miss all the Halloween stuff, but he plans to hit the POP shop when we arrive Halloween night and buy them out.
I never knew this side of him.....
