A big NO from us. I know a lot of people like the skillet, but I found it awful and my husband got sick on the meat in it. The service was horrible (2 hours and we never ordered dessert). There were NO antics going on the night we were there (I'm told it depends on the servers at any particular time) which had nothing to do with our not liking the restaurant. WCC joins Hollywood & Vine as the only two restaurants we would NEVER go back to.

We had dinner at WCC during our last trip to WDW (Oct 2010) and thoroughly enjoyed it. There were 4 adults and 4 kids in our party... everyone had a good time. The kids liked the antics of the waitstaff. The adults all had the Canyon Skillet and all loved it. I guess it's just a matter of personal taste... we thought everything was delicious!

Also, DH and I were celebrating our anniversary during our trip and each had on our anniversary buttons. Our waitress brought us each a glass of champagne and shouted out to the restaurant that we were celebrating our 13th anniversary. Everyone clapped and cheered... the champagne was good, too!

I liked the food at the WCC but DH thought it was too salty however he is the one that wants to go back this time because he misses the WL and we are staying at the Poly. The antics were not bad. Our waiter was so-so a little annoying he asked if we were covered and I said yes we were on the DPP, when DD ordered the tinkerbell drink he told us we had a co-pay which meant we had to pay for it. When he back for our orders he asked if we were in any need for immediate medical attention to which I answered that we were dying of starvation! The people at the table next to us did not follow along and did not "get it". There is a pony-stick race but I never found it annoying only the WE NEED MORE KETCHUP shouted all the time but we were in the club level lounge a lot and could here the antics all the time.

I voted yes to your poll.

Thank you for such an honest response! We've definitely been to restaurants in WDW with unruly kids, I just don't like when that behavior is encouraged....not my kind of fun. We have never eaten at a signature before, but I can completely see your point. Is the food really smoky tasting? Hmm...maybe we will skip it and try it another trip. Our HM is the week of Christmas so it's going to be crazy busy. I'm wondering if that type of atmosphere might be a little more nutty than we need after a crazy day in the parks....Do they do those antics during breakfast and lunch as well?

I love the Western Omelet at breakfast. It is excellent!

My daughter's first trip to Disney included a stay at the Wilderness Lodge. When we arrived (August 2006), our room was not ready. So we went to the WCC for a bite to eat. I think the drive from Richmond, VA, to Orlando, FL, finally caught up with my two year old daughter, because she chose that moment to have a full-on melt down.

She began to cry and scream, and I wanted to disappear. At that point, we were still at the desk, waiting for a table. I was prepared to take my daughter outside, to hopefully calm her down, when two cast members at the WCC scooped her up and began playing with her. One of them hopped onto a pony stick and started galloping around the restaurant. They showed my daughter how to "ride" the pony and she was soon following them around the dining room. She was all giggles and laughter by the time they showed us to our table, so I loved it. It made our vacation!

I have found that the CM's do encourage children to be up and out of their seats from time to time, but it never feels unruly. The children always have a task to perform, and it seems that they are too scared not to follow the servers' instructions. The servers are so outspoken, that I would be scared to not follow their instructions. I love it! It is a lot of fun!

We are staying at the POP for the first time...unless we can get one of those mysterious pins ;) The WL is my all time favorite resort. It will be the resort we stay at without kids one day :rotfl:

I think you will have a wonderful time. The crowds don't get unbearable until around the 22 or so. As long as you get all the rides you want to before that and then just relax and enjoy you will be fine.

I hope you have a very relaxing and magical trip! :thumbsup2

Thank you! We are actually staying at Pop for our very first time a few days before our wedding :goodvibes We have always wanted to stay at the WL and we are so excited we will be staying there during Christmas! Thank you for the tip about crowds-that is very reassuring! Our HM starts on the 19th so we will be sure to get in the "must-do's" before the 22nd!
