My DH and I are going w/out kids (yipee!) next month. We have ADR for WCC and I am now wondering is this a good idea without the kids? By reading other posts it sounds as if the food is just so-so and the real reason to go is for the kids. Any ideas or better choices, should we save this one for next time?

I *REALLY* enjoyed myself and loved the food. We made sure to take part in joking with the wait staff, asking for ketchup, etc etc etc. At one point, my server challenged my girlfriend to a fist fight - the loser had to keep me!

We got the skillet in March and were extremely disappointed. DH thinks next time we should just order off the regular menu. It just seemed like the ribs were dried out. Perhaps skillet is made in large quantity not to order. We are going to try it again but avoid the skillet, seemed like alot of money for quality of the food in it.

Atmosphere is fun, and you can not beat the resort.:goodvibes If you are not sure about the antics then ask for low-key dining and they will happily honor your request.

Trail's End at FW serves very similar food. This is a very good buffet too.

On our visit in July, we found the food and service was not as good as we'd had in the past. Really, the primary reason to go here is for the atmosphere and antics. Without kids, I certainly would avoid it. It's very loud and the food is not on par with some of the nicer restaurants in WDW. There are better choices if it's just two adults.

DH and I had a great time! We're both in our mid 20s and our waiter joked with us as much, if not moreso, than the families with kids. :) My only advice would be, no matter how very, very tempting they look, do NOT get the endless milkshake as your drink. We drank those before dinner and barely had any room for our real food.

We started going to WCC before my oldest (now 5) was even old enough to know that those things on the bottom of his legs were his own feet. :rotfl: So we were going for the food and atmosphere. Dh gets the skillet (breakfast and dinner) and I get the western omellette (obviously for breakfast) or the meatloaf (for dinner). We've never had a problem with the food or the service and we were they just this past December. The WCC is where we eat our last Disney meal before we head out.

Thanks! Sounds like this is just one of those places you either love or you hate. I think we will probably try a different place this time and save WCC for the kids. We will be bringing them back in Sept. and they are each bringing a friend. That should be alot more fun then! Again, thank you for the input.

Another question this then brings is where do we eat now?
We have ADR for: Sun. Kona
Mon. WCC
Tue. Maya Grill
Wed. Wolfgang Puck Cafe

Tepp.- Closed, Coral Reef-full, LeCellier-full

Any little known suggestions?

We loved WCC and went there at least twice on our last trip. The atmosphere is excellent, however the food does not prove so. I thought that some of the items were over-priced for what you got, and some of the food seemed a bit... cheap. WCC is a great place to go with kids because of the fun.
