WCC - fun or annoying?

love it! weve done it three times and will again this xmas. they still offered all the flavors of the sherrif shakes in may. my friend got caramel and it was so sweet, stick with strawberry! weve only had one waitress really into her role, that was bree in february. this trip seemed pretty tame and when i yelled for ketchup the entire restuarant looked at me like i had ten heads. i enjoy every aspect of it and am so happy the pasta they use in the pasta/chick dish is plain white pasta- i have crohns and whole wheat pasta kills me.

I don't know if it's really annoying but I do know that it's not for everyone. My kids are extremely shy and anxious don't like to be the center of attention. They barely take pics with characters. So we have never been there or to Primetime b/c I know what goes on and they wouldn't enjoy themselves.

disneychic- it is also my big 4-0 and we're going to Disney World!! too. :)

My family ate here a few times, we went there because of the antics,i think there funny, however, our waiter had a mouse in his pocket and it sqeeked, besides that, no antics with us..we even egged them on asking for a straw, we asked for pepsi(a big nono), ketchup, nothing, they were verry rushed, ane we wathed other waiters act with the people, ours was just dumb!! The funniest was putting the fat chef behind the people!!Haaa

Food is AWESOME! I am a quiet, and kind of shy, person and I didn't think the antics were annoying at all. It was fun! 50s Prime Time Cafe, on the other hand, is kind of annoying. It's kind of a milder version of that.

We just got back from a trip that included WCC. We enjoyed the food but there weren't many antics (which was ok with us). Ketchup was already on all of the tables so there was no need to ask for it. We did see pony races but aside from our waitress throwing our straws at us and being slightly surly, there wasn't much nonsense.

There were some wait staff that got more into the act than others although to be honest it seemed more annoying than funny. Keep in mind though, that we went during a down time so the dining room wasn't full and most of the guests didn't seem to be in the mood for funny antics. I suspect a full and willing dining room makes the entire experience more enjoyable.

Annoying to say the least. Having said that it was the really bad food (breakfast) that will keep us away. How can you ruin eggs biscuits and fried meat?

Wow now im thinking maybe i should change my ressie for august?? I wanted to try something different on our MK day....which is why i chose WCC. Easy access by boat from MK. But after reading these reviews, maybe i should change it? I dunno what else to pick thou. LIke i said i want something different. we've already been to ohana, crystal palace, liberty tree, chef mickeys.....wcc is the only one left (we're going to the plaza that same day for lunch). I dont think there's anything left is ther? :confused3

We went to WCC on our honeymoon trip and had a lot of fun! We went to dinner and had the all-you-care-to-eat skillet and milkshakes. The shenanigans with the ketchup was amusing, and every 20(?) minutes or so all of the kids in the restaurant would go galloping around on stick horses. It is a loud place, but lots of fun :) We would definitely go back, would love to try breakfast sometime!

We found the antics pretty fun. My kids were too shy to partcipate though.
However the food was in our opinion ..horrid.
We all got the skillet. I *think* they use liquid smoke on everything in the skillet. Whatever it is.. we hated it. And it was in everything so there was no avoiding it.
That being said, many people LOVE it as you can see, so I am not sad that we tried it. It's just not for us:)

The one and only time we went (and we won't go back), we were stuck in the back room after a 30 minute wait for our table. We asked for a table in the main room (and there were plenty of them) and they said they could not seat us there. Strike one against the place. During the almost two hours we were there (and we didn't even get dessert as it would have probably been another hour), there were noshennanigans going on in the back room or the main room (I think we heard one birthday song...but no "ketchup", no pony rides, etc.). I have heard it depends on the staff working. We thought the food was awful and won't be going back.

And to think I was trying to book our Disney trip around the same time you and Mark are going to be there and had plans to invite you to join us at the WCC. :lmao: Seriously, that's terrible they would not move you. We were seated in the back our last time there and asked to be moved and had no problem. I can't blame you for not wanting to go back based on this experience. I had a similar encounter at LeCellier where they would not move us and it left such an impression I don't think I'd ever go back there.

My suggestion for you would be to never change your ADR's based on the opinons of those on the DIS. I have been to highly acclaimed and raved places on the DIS like LeCellier and the Wave only to be less than impressed and almost cancelled ADR's to places like WCC and Coral Reef only to enjoy them repeatedly. :thumbsup2

Your right....im not the type who usually cancels an ADR based on negative reviews/someone else's opinion. Funny, I tend to dislike what others love and vice versa, haha. (Le cellier for example, I hate it!). So maybe i will like this one? I was just having second thoughts that all. :upsidedow Thank you!!
