Can you request this on your ressie so they have it noted? I thought I saw you could do this in the past but I spoke to a woman this morning and she said I can only do that AT checkin that they are on a first come basis. I know this, but what are the chances that we will get one? We are at CBR. I was planning on bringing one with us but if we can get one at the resort I may not.

Thanks all! :goodvibes

As far as I know, you can not request/guarantee a resort WC in advance. We flew down without ours last December, and we were able to get one when we checked in at OKW.

I figured if I couldn't get one from the resort, I'd just call one of the offsite places and have one delivered the next day. I think that still would have been easier than taking our own chair on a multi-leg flight. If it is a non-stop flight, I'd take my own.

Wheelchairs are not guaranteed at a resort and cannot be reserved. Also they tend to be large and clunky.

And as your flights are non-stop you are probably best off bringing your own with you. It can be set up when you check in for it to be "gate-checked". Actually, depending on the aircraft, if could be folded and put in the cabin closet. If it is gate-checked you will use the cair all the way to the actual door to the aircraft, and it will be at the door waiting for you when you get off.

One additional piece of information - there is no charge for a checked wheelchair. It also does not count against your baggage allowance.

Also, if you want rental information , look in post #2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of this board.
