DH and I are going to WDW with my parents at the end of August. DH and I are Poly lovers. DH uses a wheelchair and requires a fully accessible room with roll-in shower. The Poly has been ideal for us because of the way the WC accessible rooms are situated, monorail, and it is just the best darn resort.

My parents weren't quite sure about spending the money required for the Poly (we'd want 2 rooms to have a tiny bit of privacy). So, we ended up booking POFQ based off recommendations from the boards. Over the weekend, my Dad talked with his brother and his brother reminded Dad that he was a DVC club member. Unfortunately, my uncle had already used his allotment for the year, but I called and priced it out with our AAA travel agent. Our 2 rooms at POFQ on DDP with park hopper is ~$4200; BLT is ~$5100 for a 1-BR villa with DDP and 7-day park hopper. Definitely seems worth the additional $1000 to me.

So, to the real crux of of this incredibly long post... Anyone have any experience and/or pictures of the WC accessible 1-BR villas at BLT? Thanks in advance!!

We stayed in a 2br WC room at Blt in December. It worked really well for us but all DVC rooms have been good. Having a roll in shower and a whirlpool is a plus. We requested close to the elevator and we were only 2 doors down. It was a lake view room but had a perfect view of the castle and the fireworks at night. We did not realize we were getting such a great view until we heard the 2- 5yro twin girls screaming with excitement when they saw Cindys Castle. Of course when they saw the fireworks that night they went nuts. I kinda felt sorry for whomever was in the rooms above, below and beside us(LOL) The room will be more than adequate. I forgot to take pictures of the bathroom but you will be fine. Susan

Thanks for your response! We were just curious about what room amenties we may lose and/or slightly sacrifice for the roll-in shower. Doesn't seem like much! We are so excited to be staying at BLT!

You wont really lose an amenities, but you might have lower counters and beds to accommodate the handicapped as well. Enjoy!:thumbsup2
