Poor Charlotte :(

One of my friends actually found his wife on eharmony, and (believe it or not) Josh and I met through an online dating site. I had signed up as a joke because some friends and I were looking to see how compatible we were with each other and I saw that he went to the same college as we did. So, you never know!

I can't catch up too much tonight because I have to force myself to sleep and go to court early tomorrow, but hope everyone is well!

Still sick on this end... just a crummy summer cold...

I finally put the a/c on last night and curled up under my favorite comforter... I can never get comfy with a summer cold because you can't get warn and snuggly and drink hot tea and feel better...

So mom is making me lots of mushy foods and I'm staying cozy with my stuffed puppies and teddy bears who feed me nyquil and tell me to go back to sleep... :goodvibes

Soooo.....

I'm in a bit of a funk...

I've been trying to figure out what it is I've been feeling, etc and over dinner I just declared to myself that I think I'm having a little bit of a depression this week...

The QM is vacationing at the cape of cod with the brothers... I don't get invited... ever... i had to drop mom off at my one brothers house and then do a turn around and drive back up... later i found out that my brother and his wife never got my mom dinner that night...

My sister still isn't talking to me really so i can't pick up the phone and call her...

money is tight so I can't go anywhere... I have to get through to the end of the week on very little and i'm supposed to get together with one of my mom's friends for lunch and am afraid i'll run short.

i've had to go to Jersey twice in one week - first for a funeral of a very dear friend and father of my oldest and closest friend, Jimmy (we were neighbors in Park Ridge and have known each other since I was 1...)

I can't seem to get over being tired all the time.

I haven't walked in almost a month - since being sick. I have no energy now.

& I have to go get my car inspected...

& it's raining....

soooo that's my week....

Anyone have anything better to add?

Sorry you are feeling down.

They say smiling makes a difference. Stand in front of a mirror and smile at yourself. It really does something chemically that helps your brain. :lmao:

And if you are like me, you will start laughing at yourself and making silly faces. Laughter is good too. :rotfl2:

Also funny movies--TV or DVD. Got any joke books? or cartoon books--read funny ones.

Got any good humor tapes? or do a search on U-tube for a favorite comedian and watch all the stand-up comedy episodes you can find. Stay away from anything that sounds like aliens or Area 51.

Hope you feel better soon.

OH
lunch with the QMs friend--check the menu on line, find a cheap but filling item and order that. Check for money in the sofa cushions.

Thanks Jan

I think I'm a little better since I realized I've been a little depressed this week... Lots of silly traveling and then I'm plunked at home alone with not much to do except watch the water company dig up my neighbor's yard... :scared1: (at least it's not mine...)

lunch is at the lighthouse on the river... http://www.thewatersedgelighthouse.com/

Arlene is a very nice person... we will laugh and probably gossip a little about mom...;)

I've also decided not to push too much on projects to get done this week. I had dreams of ripping apart my bedroom and cleaning down to the floorboards, etc... well... if I get it picked up... I will be happy... Maybe someday someone will give me a gift card to Merry Maids... (once we all hit the lottery... :worship::worship:)

A joke for Michelle:

A reporter was interviewing an 80-year-old lady because she had just gotten married :bride: for the fourth time. The interviewer asked her questions about her life, about what it felt like to be marrying again at 80, and then about her new husband's :groom: occupation. "He's a funeral director," she answered.

"Interesting," the newsman thought.

He then asked her if she wouldn't mind telling him a little about her first three husbands and what they did for a living. She paused for a few moments, needing time to reflect on all those years. After a short time, a smile :) came to her face and she answered proudly, explaining that she had first married a banker when she was in her 20's, then a circus ringmaster when in her 40's, and a preacher when in her 60's, and now - in her 80's - a funeral director.

The interviewer looked at her, quite astonished, and asked why she had married four men with such diverse careers.

:goodvibes She smiled and explained,

"I married one for the money,

two for the show,

three to get ready,

and four to go."

:rotfl: Oh, just hush-up :cool1:

you know it made you laugh :lmao:

or at least smile :)

An update:

We sold our condo to a neighbor from the second floor and are renting on the fourth floor--we moved from #304 to #403. :lmao:
We closed this past Tuesday, Aug 27.

So last weekend was a flurry of activity.

We could not do anything until we knew that we would close and that depended on assurance that her buyer would not fall through. That came on Thursday afternoon Aug 22.

Our condo building has a couple shopping carts that are not the style used at our local store any more so they live here to help people bring in groceries etc. I used one all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning -- instead of carrying boxes, we loaded the cart.

On the 23rd I got the keys from the landlord, emptied our storage closet across the hall from 304 and moved things to the rental condo or the condo's storage closet. Then I started taking things out of the pantry, linen closet, etc. When Tom got home we moved more.

Saturday and Sunday (Aug 24 and 25) Tom and I moved furniture and possessions with a break for dinner Sunday with friends. :goodvibes

When I was done with it Sunday, our buyer took over the grocery cart and moved some of her valuables and breakables into the storage closet. She loves the shelves we built in there.

Monday Aug 26 I had a morning meeting. Our buyer had used the shopping cart in the morning and was done when I got home. She helped me move more stuff--pictures, refrigerator contents, etc and kept me company while I washed out the refrig and oven.

When Tom got home he took over for her and we emptied the place. Then I vacuumed it all. :faint:

Tuesday Aug 27 she closed with her buyer at 10 a.m. and with us at 11 a.m. After the closing I took Tom to work, got gas and a few groceries and came home to the rental to continue putting things away. Our buyer supervised movers bringing up her furniture. I helped her move her pantry. She commented on how nicely I had vacuumed.

Tom and I have been sleeping in 403 since Saturday night and have the bedroom and kitchen all settled. The living room and dining room are done except that items are stored here until we get the office done. All the rooms are smaller :scared1: so we are glad things are in our storage unit 3 blocks away, our stuff would not all fit in here. The office is a different size and shape so I made a floor plan on graph paper and moveable furniture-pieces on graph paper so we can see what will work before we move stuff in. We should have it all settled by Saturday night I think. :thumbsup2

Our older son, his wife and daughter have moved to Sanford. Just two weeks ago. Our daughter-in-law applied for and got a transfer in her company. They are about an hour from WDW. We never thought they would beat us. :sad2:

:woohoo: Family trip to WDW and to see their house in late September :yay:

Wow... after all that... you NEED a vacation!!!

We once moved from one condo to the other. Luckily it was all on one floor and the buildings were next to each other. We carried things out one sliding glass door and in the other... it looked like we were stealing our own furniture!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Rest up this weekend...

yesterday was tough... but the cipro has kicked in and I'm sure I will be human again by tuesday the Dr. said...

Mom and I limped out to Olivers for breakfast today... neither of us wanted to cook...

SHE ended up with a case of food poisoning... when she was away... but she's very happy to be home and sleeping in her own bed.

My brother Timmy took VERY good care of her and I let him know I appreciated it. I sometimes think that I'm the only one who can do it... but I have to let go once in a while...

We need to go give a little nudge and get them all to come back!!!

Deb has been quiet too long!
