Before Tyler went to his dad's last week, he had 2 loose teeth and he said he'd try not to wiggle them loose until he came back home since the tooth fairy doesn't visit his dad's house any more. That mysteriously stopped, with no explanation, when he was 9. I've convinced him she's just afraid of their dog. So.....he just called me to tell me one of the 2 teeth just came out while he was eating lunch and he's going to work on the other one! :goodvibes

Good for you Deb, YAY HOORAY!!!! I would love to do this cruise too. It sounds like a great bunch of people on it.

John won't fly to Barcelona and he won't fly home from San Juan. So this cruise is out for me.

Oh I was hoping that you both come and join in :rolleyes2
Fly to Barcelona is fine but San Juan, not sure which flight?

Since John no longer works for the University....we lost our medical coverage. It's sad because we had great insurance and a great perscription plan. Not anymore. Now John is going to the VA to sign up for himself. I'm on Medicare. So I had to spend many hours on the phone on Friday with Medicare and AARP. I had to buy the supplemental insurance from AARP so that Medicare coverage is complete. So I got all that going and settled. Now I have to get my scripts covered. I have too many medications. So I could not do it through AARP. Now I have to call Medicare back on Monday and try to get covered by them. Our healthcare system is very confusing. Our perscription drug plan is even worse. They take each individual script and decide how much they will or will not pay. Then they have annual amounts that you can't go over. That's whey AARP didn't work for me. I went over. Some of my drugs cost more than $300 a month. WOW. I only paid $5 or $10 depending on whether or not it was generic. If I have problems getting my script covered, I won't be able to afford to take my meds. I'll have to stop taking them and I'll get sick again.

We'll see after many hours on the phone today with Medicare. I hope it all works out.

I hope you sort it out asap...

It's a full moon. That's what I blame for all the craziness over the weekend. ;)

So that's why the QM is a cranky you know what today? :scared:

I'm staying out of the living room today...

this is NOT fun...

It HAS been a crazy weekend. I can't say I'm happy to be heading into the office tomorrow, but I have to get the kids out of my hair a little bit since (Olivia especially) has been in a crankster mood.

As I say every night... hoping for an early bedtime tonight!

There are some days when she turns into a cranky senior citizen...

This is one of those days...

I never know when they are coming. And there is usually no reason for it.

It's not a side I like dealing with.

I think I'm going to go out for a while - just to give us some distance.

& I have to go look for a piece of fabric so I can make some cool ties for a friend of mine (a Friendie diser) who has just been treated for breast cancer and the meds they gave her have put her instantly into menopause (she's in her 30's...). I had some left over fabric from when I made them, but mom has hidden it somewhere and I can't find it. oh well.. not a good time to ask her.

what's the deal w/ hit & runs lately? There seem to be so many!

My sister was a witness to an accident last week - driver who caused the accident was drunk and trying to ditch evidence, but my sister saw him. She's hoping that he will plead guilty so that she doesn't end up having to go to court.

If it's traffic court in Howard County, she should go. Some of the best excuses and laughs Rich and I have had in a long time. Rich was rear ended by a guy, who was looking at another accident. The cop walked over and just shook his head. We went to court and my o my were the speeding and accident excuses people had funny. We were sitting in front of a row of cops and their commentary was hysterical. :rotfl::rotfl2:

I hope I get a call about this guy. I'd love to help him go to jail.

this :cat: is too cute. You can tell she's feeling more at home - she's starting to tear around all over the place & is trying to get to the highest point in every room.

She's a jumper, but not the most coordinated of cats. I've caught her 4 times now, before she fell. She's scared herself a few times too.

Funny story....when I took a shower for the first time, she cried like crazy. I felt so bad laughing, but it was funny. I have a stand alone shower, next to a soaking tub & more than half of the shower is brick, then the plastic. She stood on the side of the tub, with her front paws on the edge of the brick, making these sounds that tugged at my heart. Her mouth was wide open with every cry. She would then jump down & look at me through the shower door.

right now, she's sleeping next to me - on the stool I want her on :rotfl:, but she does spend some time on my lap during the day.

I'm off work at 830pm, then we'll go hang out in the living room.

I have a dentist appointment in the morning - it will be Freckles' 1st time left home alone. I'll let you know how the house survives :lmao:

She's getting fixed on 2/28. I'm taking the day off (drop off by 730am, pickup by 3pm). She'll have to wear a cone for 7-10 days.

Oh no Deb!!! I hope you're able to get something worked out! How sad that they don't continue his coverage even though retired. Fingers crossed that it works out for you. This is scary.

They would have continued his coverage if he worked another five years. He just could not do it any longer. So he opted out early at 62 instead of 67.

For roughly $200 a month I'm covered by Medicare and an AARP supplemental insurance. That covers hospitals and doctors. It does not cover my meds. Since I have a lot of medications, I have to find another insurance plan that, for an additional amount of money, will cover all of my meds.

John will get full coverage including dental, vision and hearing for free from the VA especially since he served during combat. He's a Vietnam Vet.

I won't get dental, vision or hearing with my insurance. Oh well. As long as I can get my meds covered, I'll be happy. I have to call today to find out. :confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3

Deb- I'm also surprised that DCL isn't cruising from NY. We weren't in a financial position to cruise with them in NY last year, but I wish we has been. I love sailing out of NY harbor and would love to do that from a Disney ship one day.

I'm sorry about the Medicare woes. I have to deal with Medicare/Medicaid with work sometimes and I always dread it- hours on the phone an very little satisfaction.

Josh is off today, and headed to a hockey game with my siblings. Olivia and Sal are visiting my in laws for a trip to a Chuck E Cheese, and I'm staying in with Owen so that he won't miss his nap. I have a lot of things to do around the house anyway, and tomorrow is back to work and calling the surgeon. :sigh: it's really cold and windy here. I can't wait for spring.

I love that you have such a big family....with Josh being with your siblings and Olivia and Sal with your in laws then you and Owen at home. I always wanted to have a big family growing up.....but it was just me and my brother and my mom. Not nearly enough people. Then I wanted to have four kids, but that didn't work out. I ended up getting John's family...daughter and son and the grand kids....but that didn't work out so well either.

Keep telling us more stories about your family. I love that there is so many of you and that you're all so close. As Karen would say, I can live vivaciously through you! :goodvibes:woohoo::goodvibes
